Watched another of their games last night away to Leverkusen and you cant help but be impressed.
Young and hungry players playing fast and attacking football. Was sitting their wishing that was us.
After an even 1st half, they blew Leverkusen away with 3 goals in the 1st 8mins of the 2nd half and cruised to a 3-1 win. They've scored 42 goals and conceded just 11 after 18/19 games.
Average age of the squad id just over 22.

Also managed to catch a short documentary on them a few nights back and the GM was talking about how this was a project that started a few years ago with the appointment of Klopp and how they have steadily progressed, coming 6th in their 1st season, 5th last season and are currently sitting 13 points clear at the top of the table.

Personally, I feel that this is the type of approach we need to take wrt rebuilding our squad. We need to get rid of most of the dross and start replacing them with talented youngsters. We already have a bunch of very good players (Patcheco, Suso, Kelly, Wilson, Sterling, Silva, Ince, Coady, Robinson etc.) that have been playing with each other for sometime now and playing well also.
Also, the coach is extremely important. Ideally we should be going after someone like Klopp but if not him, then someone with the same mindset and ideas about how to setup the team and get them playing positive football.

For too long we've played defensive / safe football, and whilst you cannot lose if you dont concede, you dont see the likes of the Scum, Gunners, Spurs and to a lesser extent, Chelski playing like that, and if we want to get back up competing against the likes of these teams, we seiously need to rethink our footballing philosophy...and Dortmunds philosophy is one that we should look seriously at.

Thoughts?

I watched Dortmund and how brilliant were they?

Good, quick football. Klopp is doing something special there.

I hope for their sake they keep their players and manager.

It would be a shame to see them dismantle on the back of the inevitable attention coming their way from the bigger clubs.

The Dortmund fans have always treated us well. Isn't there a group of them who come over to watch LFC too?

On a related note, was Sami playing for Leverkusen and, if yes, how did he do?

No Judge he didn't play. Pity cos he could have made a difference with their 1st goal, but don't think he would have been able to do much about the next 2. Quick football and as good as Sami is/was, don't think he would have coped. Leverkusen's defence was terrible last night.

Is Sahin still there??? i remember seeing him for Turkey when they won the u-17's world cup? or european cup?..

Very good player.

And they did this with an unprecedented young team.
