I don't know why, but I've always liked Big Divock and no matter how many times his performances made me give up on him, every time there is an upturn in form I can't help but get excited once again. When he's in good form, he's almost an ideal back-up striker – big, fast, efficient and has a knack of scoring not just key, but legendary goals. And this season so far, he started dishing out assists as well – his knock-down for Minamino was nice and deliberate and the little chip for Salah was something none of us knew he had in his locker. His stats so far read 2 starts (63 and 90 mins), 1 goal and 2 assists. You can hardly ask for more.

The disinterested, going-through-the-motions Divock of last season is harldy worth £5M and I understand why teams are wary of investing serious money in him given that he's failed to settle in any team other than Klopp's Liverpool. But the rejuvenated goal-in-every-other-game Divock is probably more valuable to us than any replacement we could realistically sign for the money we would receive from his sale. It's a boom-bust cycle as eternal and endless as the changing of the seasons and I'm starting to think that Origi's fate is to remain in Liverpool forever.

Performs 1 in every 20 games....nice guy and everything but he's never been nor will be good enough to be the main #9 for any top side.

He's such a frustrating player because he's got all the pre-reqs - pace, strength and skill.

Every now and again he puts it all together for a little bit (like he did for that 8 game run before Everton ruined him) and you get that little glimmer of hope that it'll all finally click for him.

And then he seems to revert to this non-entity that just seems to hide on the pitch.

The Divock Dilemma.

The Divock we're currently seeing can stay as long as he wants. He has it in his locker to provide some serious competition to Bobby, providing a level of physicality we need at times. It's up to him to kick on now and not revert back into this passive, ineffective footballer.

You get the sense with him it's all down to motivation, and he needs a rocket up his arse more often than he's used to.

Except ones that twat the strongest Barcelona side ever and win literally everything.
There's no real exception.

He isn't good enough...if everyone can only pick out the same 1 night in 6 years that probably gives you an inkling.

To be fair it's hard to stay motivated when you're 4th choice striker in a team that barely rotates

and half the time you get shoved out to the left when you do get an opportunity

i still have hope he can come good for us but he’s very Ryan Babel and that never worked out particularly well

He's our version of Martial only he didn't cost 60m. Divock plays for Liverpool like its his 'side job'. He doesn't seem fully motivated and I think he's one of those footballers who can't be arsed with the football life and not for the money would have packed it in a long time ago.

He’s scorerd so many crucial goals but ya he’s away with the fairies most of the time. His attitude will never be perfect. I just enjoy the good these days, tolerate the bad and accept he’s never going to be more than that.

I still don't know if I want him to play from the left or the center. I have convinced myself of each at least 3 times of the year.

The middle usually wins until he decides to stand still for 6 months.

Let me know how many Champions League finals Martial has scored in. Both are inconsistent, but Divock has actually delivered when it mattered, again and again.

Tony Martial will do very well in the rest of his career if he scores 25% of the iconic goal collection which Divock Origi has now. Cant compare Divock to any other striker in terms of impact. Yes, he is a non-entity 99% of the time but boy when he delivered, he delivered big time. His goals will be remembered in 30 years' time, part of our history, our folklore.

Agreed definitely a Liverpool legend...but equally won't be surprised to hear 15 years from now how he kind of feel out of love with football... Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but I get those vibes from him.

I admit lazy comparison with Martial, Divock is a certified Liverpool legend!!!...but... He still has that bit part role like Martial... And like Martial should have moved on.
