Great manager? He defended well in CL last year, but when you see the line up he has at his disposal, they should be able to deliver better performances, especially attacking wise (unless they are a club in transition which mean they can be rubbish until further notice of course). I think they have to good a squad to be played of the park that often...

Feel sorry for DiMatteo, although he has always seemed like a nice guy so its probably for the best. I'd rather see a Chelsea manager who is easier to hate. Seems more appropriate.
Rafa would take the permanent job if they offered it to him, but they won't. Roman won't want somebody with Rafa's history of building his own power base within the club he manages. My bet is he'll try for Guardiola, with Hiddink as Plan B.

i didn't even realise chelsea were in such a "bad" run . But these rumours started very quickly so it's most likely they didn't really want him to continue on in the summer but couldn't get who they wanted . First bad run and he was out .
The main reason they might want Rafa is they probably think he can turn torres around.
Rafa needs a job but surely this can't be the right one . Their fans hate him , they'll be on his back from day one . He'll need to come flying out of the blocks to win them round and even then it probably won't be enough . And he'll lose a whole lot of respect from the fans we have who still love him. Actually how is RAWK doing , they might go into proper meltdown if he gets this job .
