True? Is it buggery. Shanks started in what's now the Championship and founded a dynasty. Paisley won 7 titles in 9 years and one more Bigears than the old git's managed with an extra couple of decades in which to try and do it.

Exactly my thoughts Judge - you should always compare the period of achievements and quantity in that period. The old git has one just 2 CL's in like 2 decades ... that is not a good record. Contrast that with even Rafa who took us to 2 CL finals in like 5 years then the old gits records does not compare that well. But he is a great manager and has managed to produce quite a few title winning teams during his time there, which is not an easy thing to do for any manager.

In terms of achievements, what Ferguson has accomplished has to, grudgingly, be put in the same category as our legendary bosses (though I will go NO further + put it ahead). But as a person he is largely a classless cunt and, therefore, will always be a large step or two behind.
