Worth a cheeky enquiry if Xabi goes?

Bags of abilty, experience and, most importantly, he's cheap...ish, allowing us to spend top whack on a wide/creative player.

Not for me. He's got a lot of ability but I'm not sure he's suited to the kind of hard, fast football he's been faced with over here.

You could say the same about Xabi though. I can't think of many others we could go for who could slot straight in to the current system and philosophy.

A season ago you could indeed have said the same about Xabi, but I reckon he's put that one to bed pretty comprehensively in the season just gone. Deco's form hasn't come anywhere close to that.

Xabi is more than 6ft tall and pretty tough, for all his cultured passing. Deco is five foot four and would be blown over in a light breeze. Pretty much the definition of a 'luxury signing'.

Hit a nerve that 'luxury signing' comment didn't it? I didn't realise you were the sensitive type.

If you were judging Xabi on physical attributes and mobility alone, you'd have to say he's not suited to our league, which has been proven wrong. So there's no reason why Deco couldn't flourish in our team, especially with the added protection of Masch.

It's unfair to judge him on his time at Chelsea as they were in turmoil mid season.

Not good enough for a tran and midfield inferior to ours.

Why the fuck would we want him?

Everyone was raving about him early on last season, then Scolari lost his way.

I think its probably a bit harsh to write off a player as accomplished as that on the back of 6 crappy months at a new club.... he was along with Ronaldinho and Etoo instrumental in Barcas success of 3 seasons ago.... he was also their best player in the season Ronaldinho was sulking.

He has been one of the most talented attacking players of the lats five years.

He has had a shit six months granted, a shit six months and a glittering career.

'The sensitive type'. Now where have I heard expressions like that before? Let me think.

Are you a bit of a 'psycho killer' by any chance, David? Um, I mean Stevie.

Stevie - are you blaming scolari for deco being largely shit last year? Or are you just scrambling around trying to save your thread?

You've lost me, unsuprisingly.

Are you bored and after a fight?

Poor thing.

Of course I have. I knew it was you after your first post. You'll be gone before the week is out. Have fun in the meantime...

Explain how it was scolari's fault please.
[/quote]

Are you a bit dim?

Because he was shit and lost the dressing room, which left players like Deco alienated.

Ha!

You do realise that deco had been playing under scolari for 6 years for Portugal don't you?

You're fucking shit.

Hold on a minute there ryan, deco is not some shit player at all and if he could be purchased cheaply he would add to our team. Yes it is true he was poor after the initial first few months at chelsea but injury did for a large portion of that and we really dont know what was going on down there.

It may be that he wasnt arsed and was just there to get a fat contract towards the end of his career but that would be speculation. He has been and i suspect still is one of the best attackers in football, IMO a definite step up on say Yossi.... who i am very pleased with incidentally.

I havent got a clue who stevie P is or why he is deserving of a slating but ... Deco is a cracking player IMO.

Hmmm... if Chelsea were willing to practically give him away, I'd be inclined to take a chance.

If I'm honest, I didn't see that much of him at Chelsea, but as Molby says, the guy can fucking play. If it worked out, we'd have quality backup for Stevie.

I tell you what. I really thought he would be out-muscled in the prem....... I was wrong, he can hold his own and is still a class act

regards

What exactly is a cheeky enquiry? Excuse me, is Deco for sale? By the way, you've got shit for brains.
