3rd - 7th in the table is very tight, but we are heading into a period of some tough games but only one against one of our rivals. We have a great chance to go on a charge and make use of the form that has been shown by our front 3 over recent weeks.

Stoke (A) (yes I realise that this is 29th Nov...)
Brighton (A)
Moscow, CL (H)
Everton (H)
West Brom (H)
Bournemouth (A)
Arsenal (A)
Swansea (H)
Leicester (H)
Burnley (A) (New Years Day)

A couple of tough ones, but ideal time to have as close to a full squad as we've had all season. All of the home games are against teams struggling, so i'd expect our home form to lead to wins in all of those and then Brighton, Bournemouth & Arsenal will be tricky aways.

I'm going into this spell over the next 5 weeks pretty confident that we can notch up the points required to get us into the Top 4 as we then move into the final third of the season.

I don't want to do that whole 'guess the points thing' here but I see it as a nice run of games where they are all against beatable teams so if we get some confidence we have the potential to take that forward game by game without worrying about games against the big boys.
 
And even better are January & February where we could easily have a spanking good run. Sort ourselves out a CM and CB in January and we could be in the running for 2nd and strengthen for our CL run.
 
Those are exactly the types of games we will lose points in and be extremely frustrated.

Not to mention the figure conjestion will undoubtedly lead to injuries of our big players.

As long as we stay in touch with 4th that's the main thing
 
It could be good that we had that type of game against Spurs and Sevilla - the players minds will be concentrated to a certain degree not to make those types of fuck ups and if we get a leader type CB in Jan then maybe we will be sorted out proper for the final part of the season. My biggest date for our team is 14th January 16:00 - our rematch with City - by Allah I hope we give them the spanking of their lives and knock the confidence out of them. They are not as good as the league table is suggesting.
 
How are we playing Arsenal twice before New Year's?

Isn't it always 19 before, and the reverse fixtures after?
 
No idea, but it will be our 19th game so it has only slipped through the net by 1 position.

Look we bought him for 7M or something right ? - got good use out of him by having another average inconsistent midfielder to add to our already bunch of predictable inconsistent midfielders. 7M is nothing in today's market - so I don't see the point in keeping him anyway - yeah he may turn out to be the dogs bollocks in years to come for another team and worth 50M - but the quicker we get rid of of some of the midfielders and have that opportunity for our owners and management see a requirement for a replacement - its an opportunity to buy someone better than him and improve that midfield. I actually feel nothing - zilch, fuck all at the prospect of losing Can or the likes of Sturridge. I am also close to feeling that about losing Coutinho - I think the money we will get for Coutinho may land us another player who is physically more suited to our league and provides greater consistency over an entire season. Most of the people on this site think of Coutinho as some sort of world superstar - and expect great things from him in every game. I nearly always expect the type of performance he put in for Brazil a couple of weeks ago - which is great average at best. If Barca thinks he is worth over 100M then I really hope we sell him sooner.

Well there are still the VVD rumours and maybe, maybe, we could still get Keita sorted (though that is looking more and more unlikely since RBL are only 3 pts off Bayern at the top of the BL and will either still be in the CL or will have dropped into the EL).

I think something will defo happen. There was a lot of unfinished business by most clubs in the summer. I think we will get VVD and if we get rid of Coutinho then I would love to see Lucas Moura from PSG as one of his replacements.

I think we'll buy a CB in Jan, but I don't think it will be any sort of strategic long term purchase.. Probably another Klavan to boost the ranks given injury proneness of Matip & Lovren at the moment..

Why when we have Gomez? As soon as Clyne is back, surely the logical move would be to move Gomez to CB.

Because we need a leader at the back and no one is gonna listen to a kid even if he is the best CB.

I'm not saying that would be my move, but I just have this feeling we will make an underwhielming but potential 'ok' CB signing as an interim measure. I'm still advocating we go to 3 at the back.
