What a character. Top man. Talks well. Acts well (It emerged late in the season that he and another unnamed Portsmouth star had been paying all the canteen staffs wages all season) and most importantly has come in to the team after a massive snub, and for 180 minutes So far been absolutely immaculate and assured.
Top man.

Oh and I loved his 'FUCKIN SUPERB' to the defence when they were hurling themselves infront of everything.

Yeah, same here.

If he was willing to come sit on our bench, he'd be a very good replacement for Cavalieri.

He was certainly a safe pair of hands today, even if I did wince every time a shot bobbled towards him.

He's certainly the biggest character of the goalkeepers we've got. He's deserved his chance no doubt.

Haha i love how the "hurler" doesn't get a shout, not surprising considering the hatred for Terry on here - but he was immense today.

But yes, James has been great so far.

Should have started right away.

More talented than Green. More experienced than Hart.

He writes good columns for the Guardian too, and donates that fee to charity, etc.

All round good bloke.

The columns are ghostwritten by Sean Ingle.

But yeah he seems like one of the good guys and he's been a very good keeper for a long long time.

Yup, off the field and as a person,he more or less encapsulates everything I hate about England but on the pitch for both club and country you can't really fault him, he was immense today.

Loved his attempt at the lalo diving header to block a shot.

I was talking with some mates at the start of the States game and said I was shocked Capello didn't go with James.

He has had howlers in the past but has always come back stronger.

He's been around for a long time and has been there and done that when it comes to big tournaments.

Fro James its just another game while you could see in Green he was a nervous wreck from the get go. It was like a cup final to him.

James should be no1 for the rest of the tournament.

He was very assured last night.

And yes Terry flying dive last night head first was first class bravery.

Still a wanker though.

Yep, despise him on so many levels but that was the type of body on the line commitment every fan dreams of seeing from their team.

James is a good keeper, he would be a great player as back up to reina. He shouldv been the keeper for england from the start!

Terry's recent actions have shown the two sides of the man, one part despicable, the other part admirable. Yes, he's a cnut, but you have to give him credit (however grudgingly) for the way he put other things to one side and gave everything last night.

Interesting little cameo at the end of the game though. Terry gathers most of the rest of the players into a huddle, but Lampard (there may have been others too but I didn't spot them) ignores him and carries on shaking hands with the Slovenians and doing the usual post-match stuff on the pitch.

He's done very well. There's always that thought that he has one 'moment' waiting to come though...

How ever nice he is as a bloke, there is no getting away from this fact. ^^^^^
At the highest level, he will be found wanting at some stage.

There are few keepers, even at top level, to whom that wouldn't apply. We're fortunate to have one of them playing for LFC, but there aren't many others.

don't give Terry too much credit. He fell that way coz of a mellon shaped hot-aired head. Carra wud have used his nuts to block that shot. ;D
Good game by James! Outgrown computer games, I'd say.

I'd imagine it's easier for him than most to put things to one side considering he doesn't have a brain.

In the last two years that's disappeared from his game TBH. He makes the same amount of mistakes as any keeper now, & most importantly, he's fine immediately afterwards, in much the same way Reina is. He used to suffer as Dudek did, & one error would mean he'd be 50/50 teh rest of that game & sometimes a few games later.

Thought the same thing!

Always liked James. He has a bit of Grobelaar about him.

Prone to the odd error but by and large a top keeper!
