Clattenburg

It is going to be very interesting to watch the FA handle this situation. With Suarez and Terry, they let the affected parties be tried in the court of public opinion for months. After gauging which direction the wind is blowing, they acted and provided a sentence which was consistent with the public opinion.

This one appears to be more complex.

and Oh... When I said "It is going to be interesting, I meant it is going to be fun 🙂) "

This is the very essence of the FA's problem now. They've allowed themselves to be influenced by other parties with an agenda instead of actually looking at the situation and looking for actual proof.

They either side with Chelsea as 'surely they wouldn't complain without reason' and Clattenburg's dead or they refuse to believe the allegation and Chelsea have to be sanctioned for false allegations and Clattenburg's still tainted.

Ferguson and Wenger's intervention has now ratcheted up the pressure, if they clear Clattenburg many will say the FA have been influenced.

They've got themselves in a mess, the current 'guess the probability' test they apply isn't rigorous enough.

It's crazy, having a manager like Ginsoak say he 'refuses' to believe in a someone's guilt. It ought to be irrelevant, but you know it won't be.

Indeed, said it yesterday. It's going to be very difficult to row back from prosecuting anyone for any allegation now unless in future they record all interactions.

The FA richly deserve the huge headache they now have, relying on guidance by disinterested QC's they have on retainer and influenced by agenda driven Executives (who have conflicts as they are associated with some clubs), biased and venal Managers and fans and the usual assortment of sensation seeking journos and the usual internet experts.

They need to treat allegations of 'verbals' on the pitch as ending at the final whistle unless there is clear proof to support an allegation, not 'probability' which essentially means one mans word against another.

Excellent post.

Clattenburg dominates Fergies match day programme notes.

Likely to get some decisions in his favour then? Probably...

No doubt that is the reason he came out with the words of support. Other Refs are also likely to look kindly at his words. So fear of the cunt coupled with his words of support will mean they'll be looked after in the coming weeks.

He can't control refs cocking things up, though, and there are some major muppets reffing these days. So it would be hilarious if one of them fecks up in front of him after he's been so sweet.

And he woudl have got away with it, if it wasn't for the granny shagger
