PAOK 1-1 Benfica from the first leg. If PAOK go through at home tonight we're in pot 2, otherwise pot 3.

Don't really mind the tighter draw, loads of ace games, but it gives me some interest in this game kicking off in a minute

Draw tomorrow afternoon 5pm BST for the group stages.

That's the most bizarre penalty given away by the keeper I have ever seen. He made Karius look assured and composed.

I reckon we might end up. With a tough group this year after the relative easy one last year. However, no one will want us

Pot 3 then safe.

Jinxing.. Mmmm

A touch group maybe a blessing in disguise; we normally rise up to the big occasions and at worse we can concentrate on the league. The same 11 that’s played the last few games is close to our best 11. Play that beat 11 in every league game, like Leicester did and we will be right up there in may. The chopping and changing / Rotation by the big clubs to compete for every trophy is normally their undoing - unless you have a massive squad like city.

Missing Everton for this
Not missing much ...

Goal!

Goal! Everton 2, Rotherham United 0. Dominic Calvert-Lewin (Everton) header from very close range to the centre of the goal. Assisted by Lucas Digne following a set piece situation

That fucking Kennedy guy is utter shit. Everytime I see him. I dont mean like say Wilshere is shit. I mean like he isnt a footballer. Its mad that he has a career.
Modern day Carlton Palmer

Forest smashed it, what’s funny is, I see the 2 Portuguese lads off their nut every week in my mates nightclub.

Real Madrid, Dortmund and Inter Milan.

Might as well get rid of 2 strong teams from the get go, plus it’ll make for some exciting footy!

  • Pot 1: Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester City, Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain, Lokomotiv Moscow
  • Pot 2: Borussia Dortmund, Porto, Manchester United, Shaktar Donetsk, Napoli, Tottenham, Roma, Benfica
  • Pot 3: Liverpool, Schalke, Lyon, Monaco, Ajax, CSKA Moscow, Valencia, PSV
  • Pot 4: AEK Athens, Young Boys, Club Brugge, Galatasaray, Inter Milan, Hoffenheim, Viktoria Plzen, Red Star Belgrade

Actually not that much difference in strength between Pot 2 and Pot 3 so it all comes down to the luck of the draw.

Best case scenario is we draw :
Lokomotiv Moscow from Pot 1 (stupid seeding anyway, logically should probably seed both finalists from the previous season and if already qualified go to the coefficients),
Porto or Benfica from Pot 2
AEK Athens, Young Boys, Club Brugge, Viktoria Plzen or Red Star Belgrade from Pot 4.

Worst case :
Pot 1: Real Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus or Paris Saint-Germain
Pot 2: Shaktar Donetsk or Napoli (Roma have done good transfer business so it will be interesting to see how they get on)
Pot 4: Galatasaray (away matches in Turkey - long trip and intimidating) or Inter Milan
