We were so shite for four months. Had FSG acted sooner, we would have qualified. Of that I have NO doubt.

Anyway, time to move on.

they aint qualified yet..

They will be unseeded in the qualifiers, so with any luck they will be teamed up against a tough opponent

Hindsight is a marvellous thing. Foresight would make us all rich and successful.

FSG were new to football firstly and I don't think they wanted to be seen to not be giving Hodgson a chance. They did drag it on too long though when the answer was glaring them in the face and the fans were insisting on it.

Lessons are there to be learnt and lets hope they (FSG) have. They done OK overall for me but it would be hard not to improve on the two cunts.

Yes, dead right. Don't mind me . Just frustrated. I was just one of those people feeling like they wrote off the season so early by giving Roy so much time. Having read that book, and even if I only took it with a pinch of salt, it's still a marvellous improvement on the eejits from Montreal and Texas.

It's both frustrating that our first few months of underpar performance is the reason we didn't make it this time, BUT, it's also definitely very encouraging that it's the main reason we didn't make it!

cheers

Lets face it. Fucking Blackpool. How bad were we ?

6 points vs Blackpool, right there 😉.

Mascherano leaving just before the citeh game - another 6 pointer over city

Turn those two around...and we'd be there.

I'm not saying that to be negative this time, more to say "we'll be back!"

As Kenny said, just last night, "If it was 40 years ago, I'd be still playing".

It's impossible to say what would have happened, to be honest.

They took over in October, let's say they immediately realised Hodgson was rubbish and cut him lose; do you think they'd have hired Kenny? NO chance.

They'd probably have looked round, taken advice and gotten in someone very promising like maybe Villa-Boas or Klopp.

Which would have made perfect sense, but the problem is it wouldnt have been Kenny.

Kenny is here precisely because FSG waited too long and the shit hit the fan.

It's hard not to be annoyed and even angry. When H&G bought the club, we made two CL finals winning one and ranked the number 1 team in Europe. By the time they left we were facing bankruptcy and relegation.

Man City have a collection of expensive players but are not a team and are not that good, but they will spend another £100m+ so it will be difficult to make up the ground. It will be two years out the competition and I'm pissed. I think I' even more pissed at that than the other Manchester team beating our record.

You can go crazy with the what-ifs. For example, what if we'd beaten Arsenal at home, our confidence could've been sky high and Hodgson may still be manager!
