What to expect from them? What to expect from us?
I think Pep need a reaction from his players, but for him to read what Klopp and his team have done this week is extremelly difficult. We surprised them at Anfield and kept them quite all New Years eve. It will probably be a different game this time around, and normally City is capable of scoring and we of conceding, so a dull 0-0 is not to be expected.
It is hard to Guess what Liverpool will show up with. The pattern has been that we have had plenty of fight in us when playing top half teams, and less spirit when playing bottom half. This is only partly true, as we rolled over quite a few teams during the Autumn, and goals came from everywhere, but the trend is still there.
Over Our last 4 games we have played very well against Arsenal and Spurs and shit against Burnley and Leicester. Burnley and Leicester we have had 11 poor individual performances and not looked like a team at all. No fight, not rythm and no leadership. We desperately need that from 1st minute against City, as it will be very difficult to get anything from the game if we give away an early goal again.
How do People see City compared to Arsenal and Spurs? The two London teams seem to have been very sutiable for us. While the City game at Anfield was a rough fight for every ball, the games against the Londoners we have rather rolled over them like a machine. Ball moving fast, plenty of runs in fornt and midfielders tracking back as well as creating chances. Are we capable of finding that form for the City game?
We have had plenty of time to resolve the problems from last game as we had a full week. City had all focus on the midweek game and come home from France with a hangover. Still they have a few days to prepare.
I really hope Firmino is back as he seem to enjoy playing against City. Coutinho must take the opprotunity to hit back from the disaster performance last time. The midfield, whoever turns up, must fight together, as they were all over the Place last time. I don't believe Hendo will be thrown straight back in if fit, but I really hope this week has been used to drill the midfield with whoever we expect to play. Probably Can deep and Lallana and Wijnaldum. The two latter will need all their stamina to track Down blue shirts. Defence need protection as we are too well aware what might happen against teams that have the ability to open up even the tightest defence out there. Mignolet will probably be tested more by shots than crosses, which is his strengths. And Mane should have more room to attack than against Burnley and Leicester, as City like to push fullbacks higher. Open game but a huge game for both teams!!!
