A young girl was found after being buried for 8 days - amazing. Hope there are a few more though time is short now.

I wanted to donate but I never know who to give the money to, and I always end up with donation paralysis. I won't give it to the big charities because their top executives stay in 4 and 5 star hotels (twats) and enjoy eating at top restaurants (twats again), all from their charity's coffers whilst some of the smaller, unknown non-profits are just vehicles for the unscrupulous.

If it's for my usual charities it's easy : Sea Shepherd, 6CM etc. then the money goes directly to where it'll do the most good.

I haven't gotten to much visual news since this happened. Never really watch TV news but caught it last night. Really surprised that they seemed to be reporting that a lot of the buildings that collapsed in Turkey had been new builds. Fancy, high end stuff, that this lad would have been living in. Having money shouldn't protect you more than the poorer folks in society, but you wouldn't expect it to put you in greater danger either.

RIP to all.

This one maybe better for you, If there is a trukish centre near you donate there or if it is more suitable for you do so online

It's possible to donate to the Disasters Emergency Committee itself rather than to the charities included in it if you prefer. I've had a postal appeal but I imagine there's a website you can use.

Yeah careful with who you give your money to. Many of your donations never reach the ground and the people who need them most. Sadly, that's always been the reality of many disaster relief work. Happens even to the most reputable NGOs too.

Tragic news. RIP.

Although I don't get where the reports that he'd be found and taken to hospital came from?

Yeah i saw those reports well over a week ago, so thought he was safe. Bizarre series of events

All I've read about how our fans handled the tragedy made me very proud ... and then I saw this, and I said, finally - common fucking sense ...

RIP Atsu
