1. gary neville may be a cunt but he knows his football unlike the other clueless pundits on sky
2. we have no one else in the squad that does what lucas does as efficiently (although spearing has coped as well as possible).

we need to buy another defensive midfielder in the summer because there is no guarantee lucas will return as good as he was

Essien got back to back injuries...I think his case is a bit different. Roy Keane was fucked as well and came back twice the player he was before he got injured.

He probably wouldn't have turned draws into wins (as we were drawing when he was playing) but I suspect he would have turned some of the losses into draws by given a better shield to the defense. seeing as lucas is by far the best holding midfielder on liverpool's books, his injury was a massive loss.
