I'm going to keep saying Ross McCormack of cardiff until someone listens.
He wouldn't be a direct replacement for Torres if Torres picked up an injury because he is more of a Dalglish type forward but he would probably form a very decent forward partnership with Kuyt.

Why do we need another keeper? Just because Benitez normally buys at least one a year doesn't mean he SHOULD! Worrying about how good our third choice fucking keeper might be is taking caution way too far.
If we need to buy a striker (and in my opinion it certainly wouldn't hurt) then rule number one is that he should at least be better than Voronin. So Kevin Davies doesn't qualify. Sorry.

Why not? These are afterall back-ups, not first choice. Statiscally they have performed year in year out for the last few years in the PL.

Regarding keepers, I am perfectly happy with our back up keeper as I doubt he will even play very much and when he has he has seemed competent enough. We also have God knows how many young keepers who can probably do a job in an emergency. So I am really not best placed to comment.
Regarding strikers, that is my point. I can't think of a cheapo striker who would make much of a difference to our squad. Owen would have been worth getting but obviously that's now out of the question. If we are going to buy a striker that will improve our squad then he will need to be a decent onem, which means he will cost money.

Why we haven't tried for RVN is beyond me. Proven goal scorer whereva he has been. Yes he maybe injury prone for a rummoured 2.5mil well worth a punt.
