Charlton on Moyes

I like Bobby Charlton. He's one of the very few Manc's that transcends cuntdom.

What else could he say? He says it, but he might not necessarily mean it.

Some of it is cult like behaviour, how that fuck can any of their fans really believe Moyes is the right man for the job? its a struggle to come up with just 1 valid reason from their point of view, they must be brainwashed by this sort of shite that good old Bobby comes out with.

Even though hes Man Utd through and through ive always had respect for Bobby Charlton, a genuine football legend, the manc fans say it was him that wouldn't let Mourinho anywhere near their club, thank fuck for good old Bobby Charlton, cheers Bob!

Of course, i did say from their point of view.

Can you think of 1 valid reason from their point of view?

Like when Hodgson was here, there simply isn't any positives.

Man Utd have one of the best away records in the PL. That's a positive.

We've had this type of behaviour on here in various forms.

It's a no lose situation for a particular type of supporter. He salvages the situation and they get to be right. He doesn't and they still get to be the good supporter, besides no one will bother reminding them about it anyways. And in the meanwhile, they get to be all holier than thou and talk down to people - the kneejerkers, Sky generation fans and what not.

Go on then, who were the Hodgson supporters here, nah don't bother, no point.

God Hodgson was dreadful, even putting the turgid football to one side he should have be sacked for the absolute shite that used to fall out of his mouth everytime he opened it, that used to piss me off just as much and sometimes even more than the shit on a stick football he had Liverpool playing.

Just realised that reply hasn't much relevance to what you said, i know what you mean though, superfan shite basically.

No, as I said in another thread, it was the majority of the board that was adamant that Mourinho wouldn't get the job, and they instructed Charlton to make their views known in the media. He just does what he's told.

Fair enough, can't admit i know much on the subject but have seen it around a lot on forums and media that it was Charlton was dead against him.

Wonder why would the majority of a board would not want Mourinho? surely it can't be purely down to him being a tosser?

Thats another example of their arrogance there, thinking they could get any Tom, Dick or Harry to come in and carry on the success just like that.

The Tories went for Major after Thatcher. Historically it's rare for people to eagerly seek out one dictator to replace another. Besides which, Mourinho was going through his most erratic phase with off the pitch fights and other incidents. It scared the board. They went for Moyes because he was Ginsoak's second choice and they were still sufficiently in awe of him to accept his advice.

I'll still say it now, I wanted Hodgson.

Thought he could do a job

Brave man.

TBH once the King was told he wouldn't get the job I wasn't dead set against Hodgson myself. I wasn't especially keen, and it was said that Pellegrini was also in the frame, but I wasn't convinced by him either. In fairness to Broughton and Purslow, they didn't have a lot to choose from at that stage.

*shrugs*

Not like I'm renowned for my footballing knowledge is it

Christ, the man was just trying to steady the ship. Give him a break.

Was my initial thoughts then he started to talk and it was clear he was not a Liverpool manager.

The only thing that really gets Hodgson excited are great big clonking watches. He refused to let his scouser wife be mentioned while he was here, even though that was a PR mistake, on the grounds that he didn't want to get her in the spotlight. Now he's forever parading her,and his son, also with a great big clonking Hublot watch, every other month!

I actually feel a little bit disgusted by this....

An England Legend, a man who has been there, seen it, done it, been through the hardest of times with his team (Munich) being harassed by a Journo trying to make a mockery of them....

Even we shouldnt be happy about that.

We wouldnt like someone mocking Shankly or Paisley or legendary old players in the same way if they were around.
