Reds join Adam admirers
Chase hots up for Blackpool ace

Liverpool are ready to enter the race for Blackpool star Charlie Adam, skysports.com understands.

Blackpool are facing a fight to keep hold of the midfield playmaker having already rejected bids from Aston Villa and Birmingham.

Adam has been a revelation for Blackpool this season with a number of eye-catching performances in their first season in the top flight.

Liverpool are now believed to be weighing up a move for the former Rangers man as new Reds boss Kenny Dalglish looks to add some creativity to the side.

Dalglish has admitted he is keen to bring in a few new faces during this month's transfer window and he is thought to be a big admirer of his fellow Scot.

Liverpool will have a good opportunity to see Adam up close and personal when they take on Blackpool on Wednesday at Bloomfield Road in their rearranged clash following the initial postponement on Boxing Day.

Adam has 18 months to run on his contract at Blackpool and Ian Holloway would be loath to lose their star performer.

Myself and Doc have said this a few times, but I'd love us to sign him, he's got a good footballing brain and would be a worthy addition to our squad.

Would be a decent signing as you said. ? more of a squad player though.

Yeah probably but I'd sooner him than taking a gamble on a foreign player for the same price. Is he still in dispute over his contract?

I've yet to be convinced about him TBH. He seems a little slight and I wonder if his undoubted ability and vision would be enough to compensate at the very highest level.

On a different note, today's game would have been a hell of a lot easier if it wasn't for the frozen pitch as he was suspended then and IMO is one of their most important players, he makes them tick.

true, made even harder with stevie suspended. however, we should still have enough quality

We've been linked with loads of potential targets and nothings happened so far. This is probably just one of those pre match transfer target rubbish lazy journo stories!

He won his dispute over the bonus payment, but wasn't awarded costs. So financially he didn't gain at all. He wasn't allowed to get out of the contract on account of it.

I would not mind if he came as a Lucas replacement

Not seen enoug of him to know exactly how good he is but as a lot of you guys rates him I wouldn't mind him one bit.

He's got the passing ability, but don't know if he can take the step up tbh.

Where would he play? Sitting deep next to Meireles in a 4-2-3-1 might be a possibility.

I don't think being slight is a problem he has to worry about..

Bargain at 4m and an instant significant improvement to our shite centre midfield.

He really has got something of the Xabi about him.

He is miles better than Lucas, Poulsen etc. I think we need a player of his kind. One who can link up play from deep in the midfield. This is getting rather pathetic.

Blackpool have just seen Poulsen play though.
[/quote]Alright 15m+poulsen.

I would gladly offer them the full midfield of Kuyt - Lucas - Poulsen - Jova for adam.

However the problem is that Blackpool dont want them... and they cant afford them.. So we are stuck with the 4 mediocre midfilders.. FUCK

adam is a bit like Alonso... Know when to hold the ball, know when to pass a short safe, know hen to do a long one... Nice

I'd sign him in a heartbeat. Excellent passer of the ball and has got a bit of creativity.

Ship out Lucas and Poulsen and bring him in.
