After watching seven Academy talents make their senior debut during the 2012-13 season and several new signings light up the Premiership, John Henry has insisted that you cannot put a price on the work being done by Ian Ayre.
Henry was at Melwood to announce the appointment of Billy Hogan as New CEO and Ian Ayre as the new Vice-Chairman of Liverpool Football Club.
Ayre's promotion will see a significant increase in his earnings as the agreement includes a large allocation of shares in FSG.
"It's a big investment but it's money well spent," Henry, the club's owner, told the Liverpool Echo.
"Both myself and Tom Werner have been to the Academy and we see it as a pipeline to success. It is common knowledge Ian is the driving force behind that success and you can't really put a price on it.
"How do you put a price on the contribution we've had over the years from Steven Gerrard, Jamie Carragher and Ian Ayre? We, the owners are hugely supportive of Ian and see great value in the work that he's done both at the Academy and throughout this club.
