Cavani in talks with LFC

I don't think it should be. They play in a traditionally defensive-minded team, against the best defenders other countries have to offer.

Unlikely as it may be to actually happen, signing Cavani would be an absolute dream. Excellent player, one who already knows Luis Suarez well and one whose signing would signal to Suarez (and to the football world in general) that we really do mean business.

Cavani can also play in different attacking positions and has an amazing workrate.
I thought he had a quiet year since there hasnt been much talk of him in the media, but he's got 14 goals in 15 games.

He'd be the perfect signing. Sadly I think he'll be to expencive.

He shits goals for Napoli, but I think he's been less prolific for the Uruguay team which might be an issue for us since he partners Suarez there.

It's not a bad record, 64 appearances and 25 goals. He's been alot more prolific for them of late aswell.

Arsenal will probably invest quite a bit in the next windows. If Wenger can get past his transfer policy they'll sign a couple of big name players I reckon.

I'm still not convinced by Ngoo to be honest. He does score goals but I'm not sure about his movement and positioning. It's a bit like Mellor, I mean the guy scored plenty of goals and still ended up in the championship.

I dont have see a problem seeing them not so prolific partnership in the Uruguayan NT maybe because the amount of time the spent playing together where as if they play together in a club, they have as much time to train and play together.

When your brain and hands don't cooperate...😉

You were probably counting his total including the U20 and the olympics.
I think it's only the full national side that counts and his record there is a bit less brilliant:

National team‡
2006–2007 Uruguay U20
14
(9)
2008– Uruguay
45
(13)
2012 Uruguay Olympic
5
(3)

I'm going nowhere I'll have you know

Hahaha!

JJ: I think Coates will leave as he doesnt get a game at all. If Rodgers brings in a replacement for Carra ( rumoured to be Pearce), then he'll still be 4th choice.

I see what you're saying and fair enough, it's a possibility. However, it may well be that Rodgers hasn't wanted to throw Coates in while we've been battling to improve our form. Now that we've gone 6 games without defeat - hopefully 7 after tomorrow - it may be that that will change and that Rodgers can tell Coates he'll be given more chances. Let's wait and see.

Good point mate. I hope so aswell, I like him as a player and want him to succeed. Needs to add some agression to his game though.

There's a rumour that Coates is going to add some aggression to his game and replace Skittles in the summer.

Is Mellor still playing btw? Crewe?
