Has there been any players in recent year that has excelled at Liverpool? It feels like everyone who comes to Liverpool stagnates (is it because we buy so many one-season-wonders?) and then moves on to smaller clubs to fade away.

Mascherano and Alonso moved on but that is a few seasons ago.

Lucas is perhaps the only one who's become better?
