As you know the, BBC are proposing big cuts to Local Radio. But, PMS has not been cut so far. Please contact BBC trust and tell them how you feel about the proposed changes on 0800 0680 116 or email trust.enquiries@bbc.co.uk Watch this space!..
Also contact Radio Merseyside 0151 709 9333 radio.merseyside@bbc.co.uk.
Management are currently in consultation to decide the shape of local broadcast, so tell them why the station and the shows it broadcasts are important. I work on PMS (...The Popular Music Show), which has been bringing the music no one else dare play to the local area as well as shining a spotlight on our more experimental local gems and although we have not been cut yet, our future is uncertain. "PMS" (and its previous incarnations) has a 35 year history of fostering experimentation and genuinely new music and this is a tradition which can not be recovered if lost through cuts. The BBC intends to protect "distinctive" specialist music programmes from the cuts. "PMS" is at least among the most distinctive of such programmes, and nationally unique
basically a quick email saying don't axe the show would be very helpful, they read it all.
