I actually looked at flying to Istanbul via Kiev in 2005. But it was £1500 one way! Obviously not the only person who thought of it.

I hope that's a whoosh. Rurik is Ukrainian, Kiev is in the Ukraine and "Kyiv" is how the name is spelt in Ukrainian.
