damian commoli - Director of Football; he looks after transfers and generally the most powerful person after the directors.

Kenny Dalglish -Manager

Sammy Lee - AM

Steve Clarke - Coach

roles are for fakes who like to pretend that they have a job to do. the important thing is that's a really good set of staff. none of the four are the type to talk bullshit about how they are "working hard" at their "roles".

they'll come in every monrning, do what they have to do, do it competently, then go home. it's been a fucking long time since we had those kind of people at the club

[/quote]I dont really understand the question mate.
Steve Clarke coaches the team, Kenny Dalglish manages the team, Comolli signs the players and Sammy Lee looks small and does fuck all.

If we look at most other english clubs we sought of new what everyone did.

So under Rafa we knew that he selected transfers, selected the team - did what a manager traditionally did. Everyone else was there to help him with his tasks of involved with player dynamics.

But with camolie here adding a further tier, you wonder what he adds and takes away from the manager. And who calls the shot.

During the press conference he let it slip that he more or less makes the decision as to keep kenny on or not

I think under this set up Kenny deals with the first team, selection, tactics, training etc. His assistants and coaches, well, assist him and coach.

Camoli manages the scouting, transfers and deals with player and staff contracts and agents.

I assume who is signed and whose contract is extended should be agreed between Comoli and Kenny.

I'm not totally sold on this set up as it seems clear where divisions could arise that could cause problems, and it seems that its Comoli who is ultimately more senior, and to my mind that should always be the manager. But we shall see!

Kenny's explanation:

"Sammy Lee and Steve worked very well in tandem this morning. We're all in as workers - I don't know what the titles are."

Apparently Comolli had a target lined up but HodgePodge regected it, as the manager at the time had a right to stop a transfer.

I'd love to know who the target was, and if they will ask Kenny does he want him?
