Bit of a long shot but it's worth a go...

Me and my six year old lad are undertaking a season long challenge to visit every one of the 92 football league clubs and get a photo of him outside each stadium.

We've done 72 and we're on track to finish by the last weekend and he's already a mad red so we are finishing with Anfield.

I've had a look on the website to see if there's a contact email address for community and the like but can't find one.

I'd love to be able to get him on the pitch in front of the kop for the final shot to finish our journey.

Anyone know of a relevant contact number/address and/or know whether a bog standard stadium tour would do the business.

Thanks in advance.

Stadium tour would do the business..., they wont let you on the pitch mind.. but you will be able to get your picture in front of the KOP...

Thanks

We were in Manchester last week. He insists on wearing Liverpool gear everywhere we go and when we're at the point of taking a photo, he poses with a big smile on his face, pointing at the badge on the stadium we're at, standard stuff around the country.

This was how he decided to mark the visit to Old Toilet....

Ledge.

Isn't there enough of a story there to get him on the pitch pre-match or at half time or at least to meet a few players? Why not drop the PR department a note to see whats possible

Glad to see you have brought him up right, anyway 🙂

I thought that, even though it's a long shot and there's probably all sorts of people getting in contact with the club about now.

Macca's sent me a number over for the PR Team, which I'll give a go and I'll let you guys know how it goes.

Appreciate all the help.

Part of the Anfield tour brings you to the Kop where you sit down and listen to a bit of history. You'll have no problems getting a photo. But yeah, you won't be allowed to walk on the pitch.

By the way, if anyone wants a list of towns to avoid in the UK, I'm your man after this adventure.

When we were in Hull, my lad kept mispronouncing it as 'Hole'.

He wasn't wrong......

Your boy sounds like a bit of a character. Great pic in front of OT by the way.

Thanks. I had planned to try and squirrel him in and out of there quickstyle given what he was wearing.

A lack of planning on my part put paid to that as (as you can see from the fella in the background of the picture), they were using the stadium as the finish line for the Greater Manchester marathon.

Thousands of 'em everywhere. Strange looks in abundance......

Forget pigs, tvs, socks and cocks, this is obviously the good luck charm.

Make sure you do it every season from now on.

He wants to extend it into non-league clubs as well...

My petrol bill is propping up the UK economy on its own at the moment so we've come to a compromise that we'll do the clubs that come up out of the conference each year to keep it current.

What a great thing to do with your son. I betcha the club will do you a favour. I expect to see yis in LFC Now in the coming weeks....

Mini update, looks like there's an outside possibility of us actually getting a pair of tickets for the game which would be an outrageously good way to end this countrywide trek of ours.

Nothing back from the club as yet but may have sourced one through a guy I was telling the story of our challenge to who happens to know Jon Flanagan somehow.

Anyway, if we don't, we'll still be up and around Anfield on the day to finish the 92 clubs, where is the best place locally I could get to to watch the match on a screen that would be suitable for a six year old to be?

Tbh there's nowhere you guarantee there won't be bad language that I know of, groups of lads watching the match tend to swear, as I'm sure you know!

In that respect it's much of a muchness where you pick.

Thanks Jon

I'm less worried about what he will hear rather whether the pub itself would be OK with having him in there.

By the way, shit town update from this past weekend....

Charlton's ground has to be in the worst part of London I've ever been in and the people we saw on Brighton Pier made me feel extremely upper class. I reckon if Norris McWhirter were to have turned up, we could have claimed a Guinness world record for the largest collection of shit tattoos in one place at one time.

This weekend, Middlesbrough/Hartlepool/Sunderland/Carlisle/Bradford should bring about some interesting scenes for us......

You haven't been to White Hart Lane yet I take it?

The bit of Woolwich where Charlton is at is a bit of a dive, granted, but Tottenham is a proper fucking shithole

Good Point, we did go to Tottenham and it was a real hole. Went on the bus to get there as well which was a real culture shock. Actually, QPR was in a real bad spot as well. Maybe the fact that we went across to Fulham in the same afternoon balanced out my feelings towards these two dumps.

Thanks Jon

I can't think of any pubs bar some of the fancy establishments up their own arse in town that song allow kids in during the day. All those around the ground do that I can think of, none of them particularly pleasant in decor, aroma or facilities unfortunately.
