Out for the rest of the season is our Emre.

Will he wear the famous red again? Hope he gets to lift Big Ears if not ... nice sending off.

It seems Sky Germany:

[article]However, speaking in a subsequent interview with Sky Sports Germany this evening, Klopp was asked straight up whether Can’s season should be considered as over, with the former Borussia Dortmund boss said to have responded with an affirmative ‘yes’.

As such, with rumours also mounting regarding his future at the club, the possibility now exists that Emre Can may have played his last game for Liverpool.[/article]

Would be a real pity if he was semi-permanently crocked and no one wants to give him a contract...

I hope Can stays, but if he doesn't i'm not that fussed. I think he has talent and will become a good midfielder. But right now he's very hit and miss and hasn't done enough to warrant me giving a shit.

Juventus Reportedly in Search of Midfield Alternatives After Receiving No Answer From Liverpool Star
Amie Wilson18 APR 2018

Juventus are ready to end their pursuit of Emre Can and move onto alternative options to fill the midfield role, according to reports in Italy.

Can is out of contract with Liverpool in the summer, and has been in contact with Juventus for the last few months, with recent reports claiming that the Italian club were 'confident' of securing the services of the German international.

However, it now seems that the club is not so confident, and according to Tuttosport, they are already considering different options in Can's position.

It has been reported that Juventus president Giuseppe Marotta set a deadline of ten days on April 7th for Can to make a decision on if he wanted to sign for the club or not. That deadline has now passed, and the club still do not have an answer from the 24-year-old.

Depressingly not a bad shout.

It'll be city, depth for fernandinho

I guess he wants to play for "better team, better football, better defence, better tactics, better coach, guaranteed silverware and more money" 😉

Seriously though, he would be beyond stupid to move to another EPL team at this moment. Don't think he is that thick.

That reads like Juve, who have put a gun to his head are now threatening to pull the trigger.
I expect next week they will threaten to really,
really pull the trigger.
I still expect him to go there.

I wouldn't be massively surprised if he ends up staying you know. He has playing a game of brinkmanship but a lot of the noises have always suggested it is about getting what he wants with Liverpool.

Hes clearly in no rush to sign for Juve as he could have done so in Jan. He will wait and see what offers come in and I dont expect him to commit to anything til after the World Cup.

Worth remembering he turned down Bayern to join us, I cant see him going to any club where he will be sitting on the bench for the prime years of his career. I dont think hes fully gone yet either, if he thinks Liverpool is his best optipn come 1st July I can see him signing for us. This isnt anything like the way players like Suarez and Sterling bulldozed their way out of the clb.

If we get Neves (or a midfielder of equal quality), then we’ve got Keita + one other in midfield. That could be Hendo, Milner, Ox, maybe even Firmino on occasions if we bring another striker in.
I doubt Can would get what he wants, baring in mind he didn’t already have what he wanted during this season. It’ll only get worse for him here.

I want a good defensive player in midfield. Neves is in the Alonso mould, does he read the game well, yes?
Does he read the game well defensively? That's up for discussion.

Right now? I want Neves, Keita and a Casemiro type player like Fabinho at Monaco.

I hope he stays. Young dynamic midfielder. Strong and good in the air. If he stays and plays he performs better than others.

He'd be a bit dim if he didn't realise his place in the team would be under threat if he did stay next season. Presumably Keita will be the first name on the sheet, probably Hendo the second, and then - Lallana? Milner? Hopefully we bring in another player. So Can wouldn't exactly be assured of a regular place. It would be amusing to see him stuck on the bench after this ridiculous saga but frankly I won't be bothered one iota when he goes.
