I’ll tell you what my issue is with him.
It’s not that he doesn’t have ability, or technique, or whatever. He can play football, he’s not some uncoordinated mong.
Ir’s that he lacks fucking conviction in everything he does. Not one thing on a pitch is done with any form of aggression, or authority. Take that chance he missed in the first half as a prime example. The ball drops to him just outside the box, no keeper near it, and he fluffs a shot almost apologetically goalward. It’s like he was too fucking timid to put his foot through it cvos there was a defender in the way. Gerrard, in his day, would have put ball, leg, and defender’s throat into the net with it. Put your cunting foot through the ball and put it in the net. Did anyone see his run to get into the position for it? Jogging there. He got lucky it fell to him and he still couldn’t take advantage.
Everything else is done sans conviction. His passing? Limp as fuck? His cross-field balls are floaty droopy things that reach the receiver 15 minutes after it’s left Jordan’s boot. He runs around a lot without charging anywhere. He kinda asks for it with a weak hand out suggestively instead of demanding it, and he makes one run to find space instead of the half dozen drats it takes to lose a marker.
Everything is done apologetically. It’s like he’s there not to make a mistake the whole time, meaning every single performance gets a rating of Vanilla/10. It’s frustrating as all cunt cos he’s got ability. If you still care enough and have 4 minutes of your life to throw away watch this video, it’s his Sunderland highlights and the reason we paid all that money for him.

He can assert a bit of influence, can command the ball, and can charge into the box and score winners. Perhaps he’s intimidated by the better players around him, but if he continues to play like the big vagina he has been since he’s come to us, he won’t be playing with those better players for too much longer.

I know that many of you say he is a footballer and I have said many times that when he is playing - I actually don't notice him, and perhaps thats because of what Ryan has said regarding his level of conviction when carrying out his duties. I like many of you think he is scared and lacks confidence but how do you explain if it is true at all that he refused to go to Fullham when the Dempsey deal was still on ? If he was that scared I would have thought he would have taken that option - but he decided to stay - so if that was true then I don't get why that guy is here.
It wasn't too long ago when we were saying same things about Lucas. Our midfield has become so terrible with average players that no one footballers can come in and change how effective it is.
