Do we rest key players considering we have Chelsea away (early kick-off) on Saturday, if so who?

I'd like to see a strong team myself.

Firmino in for Coutinho and Benteke in for Origi would probably be the two changes I'd make from the team that started against Southampton.

Yes, I'd like to see a strong team. But drop/rest Coutinho for a much-needed boot up the bum. Teixiera could come in. Connor Randall is being offered a new contract and is in the first team squad, so maybe he could play RB so Clyne can have a break. And as a big fan of Ibe I must acknowledge he's looked utterly lost this season, so I think he needs a game to show that he still has the fight to regain some form.

I don't think we're in position to start reserves. We need to get back to winning ways first.

You could make an argument that we don't really have any reserves yet. Not until Klopp gets a chance to see all the squad in action. So this is a good chance to rest a few, Clyne, Coutinho, Can for players who haven't been in the team yet. Also use Benteke and Firmino to give them so match fitness.

Milner and the FBs need a rest, Couthino should be given the night off and Origi is totally not the answer whatever the question.

Allen, Randall, Enrique, Firmino & Bentekers in

Frimino needs to start and see can he begin to impact games. He looks classy any time I've seen him.

We need a fucking win. Strong team and go balls out. Bournemouth are struggling a bit and we need Klopp to get a first win under his belt.
I imagine this time next year they'll be about 3 players left from today's squad. Load of gash in the main. Even with Klopp it's lipstick on a pig time.

Milner might as well play. He's suspended for Chelsea.

Isn't Milner suspended for this game? I thought the 5 booking suspension kicks in for the following match.

Benteke and Fermino to get 60 minutes each. Ibe should get a full 90 minutes.

Looks like we are trying to groove a set 4-3-2-1 system and should stick to that but we have to keep some players fresh for Saturday morning which is a huge game. Some of the returning players have to be nursed as well so they don't break down again.

With a bit of luck Bournemouth will be taking a long look at their league position and injury list and decide to jettison the Cup matches so will also have a weakened side.

I would go for : Mignolet ; Clyne, Skrtel, Sakho, Moreno ; Lucas, Allen, Texeira ; Lallana, Ibe ; Origi.

Strong bench with Firmino, Benteke & Coutinho to come on for 20-30 minutes.

I'm gonna have to watch this late after Bex's family booked a meal for wed at 7.

Fucking pisses me off, her entire family arrange shit without checking the fixtures just cos they don't like footy, there's a few blues who end up getting just as pissed off.

His preferred formation is 4-2-3-1, I think. I prefer that anyway.

4-3-2-1 means that Milner and Can operate almost as wing-halves, which means they get in the way of the overlapping full-backs. It's actually made us so narrow, and also means that Lallana and Coutinho are tripping over each other, and there's little support for the striker. And if that striker is as useless as Origi, the lack of goals and clear-cut chances created is going to continue to be an issue.

The problem is that we don't have enough genuinely quick attacking players who can attack from wide position, which means 4-2-3-1 is a formation that doesn't seem to suit the personnel we have.

I'm not so sure it's entirely by accident or due to personnel.

It does make more sense to be a bit more narrow & less creative when trying to stop the goals leaking & get the defence playing with more confidence.

The trade off is that we have no outlet that sticks (Coutinho being off form doesn't help that one bit) so it can conversely increase pressure at times, although a quality striker & in form Coutinho could lessen that easily.

Defo give a couple of fringe players a go

Bogdan
Randall Toure Sakho Moreno
Allen Lucas Teixeira
Ibe Firmino
Benteke

Sorry, I wasn't being pedantic. I misread your 4-3-2-1 as 4-2-3-1!

Easily done.

Certainly my preferred formation and personnel would be as follows, injuries allowing and Firmino not being shit (until we buy a new keeper, CB, midfielder and attacker/ winger)

--------------------Mignolet-----------------

Clyne------Skrtel-----------Sakho--------Moreno

------------Henderson------Milner-----------

---Firmino------Coutinho---------Sturridge---

------------------Benteke--------------------

I think we will see some changes. Toure in for Skrtel and Ibe will probably play. Benteke to start if he feels fine, but he will be very important for the weekend. Firmino could play more if fully fit. Milner is out I guess (bookings). Allen to get another chance to prove himself?

Bogdan
Clyne - Toure - Sakho (c) - Moreno
Allen Can
Ibe Couthino Firmino
Benteke

I'd expect Brannagan to figure at some point as well. Very well-regarded at the club, captain of the youngsters, and very versatile - he can play behind the strikers, central midfield, holding midfielder, wing back - he's done it all at some stage over the past couple of years. Very suited to Klopp's energetic game, as well.

No mentions of Lovren, is he injured or we just don't want to see him ever again?

Allen, Ibe & Texiera need some football
Firmino & Bentekkers could use an hour

Want a mostly strong team with a couple youngsters fit in. Coutinho should sit, as Milner likely will (if he is suspended that is). Wouldn't mind giving Clyne a break. Otherwise play a strong lineup and pull players off early if we get a good lead.

Hate when we play Frankenstein sides of youngsters and rejects that have no hope of putting together a good performance.

That's probably the best on paper but I might go for Lucas instead of Milner on form and put Firmino in the middle with Coutinho out wider (but all the top 3 interlinking which is how the system works).

The issue for us at the moment is we have no pace or width as the support to the striker. That might be why Klopp is using the 4-3-2-1 but Can is lost on the left, a liability.

Jurgen Klopp ruled Daniel Sturridge out of Liverpool 's Capital One Cup tie against Bournemouth on Wednesday night.
The Liverpool manager said the 26-year-old striker was progressing from his knee injury but was not far enough along on a comeback to be risked at Anfield.
Sturridge has not played under Klopp due to fluid on his knee, last pulling on the red shirt against Everton in the Goodison derby.
Klopp said today: “There's nothing really new on this. Daniel's not available for tomorrow.
“It's getting better but not quick enough to change the situation for us. He's not in training.
“I saw him five minutes ago working with (head of physio) Chris (Morgan) in the gym but not enough to think of normal football training so we have to wait.”
The 48-year-old German also confirmed that he would rotate players for the fixture – but only to give his team the best chance of getting through to the League Cup quarter finals.
Klopp spoke after Sunday's game against Southampton that he felt the opponents had been the fresher team because of not playing a game in midweek.
“Of course we have to change the team a little bit now. At this moment I don't know how many changes we will make.
