Obviously there is a long standing trend for Brazilian players to have their Christian names or nicknames on their shirts, Pele being the most obvious. However, it seems to be creeping in to the game more and more. Non Brazilians would appear to have to be at least a top player to get away with it, which leads us on to our favourite left back who along with a fucking ridiculous haircut now has Alberto M on his back. What's that all about and if he is SO good or famous why the need for the M! Or have I got this wrong?
Cannot wait for this knob to go.

Didn't the other Alberto have 'Luis Alberto' on his shirt?

But, I think we have enough footballing ammunition to rightly deride Alberto M with. Having a go at him about his (admittedly ridiculous) haircut just seems mean.

We have the other Alberto don't we ?

We need to be able to differentiate between both of the useless twats in the unfortunate event that they both make it onto the pitch together

Ha yeah but seeing as Luis Alberto hasn't got a squad number it is doubtful he will have a shirt to put his name on! And anyways he's another one isn't he, his surname is Alconchel or something.

I can understand a colossus of sport like say Sachin doing this but these twats - words fail me, do they really see themselves as established heroes, or even established anythings

The authorities used to be much stricter about names on shirts. When he joined Leeds United, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink wanted to have "JIMMY" on the back of his shirt, but they insisted it must be "HASSELBAINK." That must have increased the club's revenue from customised replica shirt sales.
