Big Andy

You're right

But saying we should loan Andy out after we've just used him (to alleged great effect) is borderline special needs.

Sell or keep. Fuck loan.
For the record I would rather keep him but if Rodgers isn't going to play him and nobody is going to match or selling value I'd rather see him loaned out, get game time, build his reputation back up so we can get a better price in Janurary or next summer.

After we thump Utd of course

Ok, so Rodgers has said we need at least 3 strikers so he won't sell andy.

I reckon as soon as sahin is agreed then Carroll will be away.

Which also ties in with my theory of getting loans in to cover the forward positions as it's easier to bed in there.

But sahin ain't a striker!

Could it be why Morgan is probably playing tonight? To see if he's ready to step up

Telegraph NE reporter saying that Newcastle are likely to bid 12 mill in the next couple of days. No loan.

That's a touch under what I'd like, but if we can put that money, and a few more quid, toward somebody like Walcott or Sturridge, or somebody from outside of the league, then I'd be happy.

it won't happen. Any other club maybe but not newcastle. After conning 35m off us i'd expect them to pay at least £20m. I'd accept £15m from any other club. Im glad Rodgers said that about newcastle, they are taking the piss.

I think (as the split supporter) that Rodgers should hold onto him anyway, regardless of who comes in. Alright he might not be what he wants, but £12m back to the selling club is a double rape.

New players are untested, injuries happen, he's in a mild run of form and he's still going to be worth £12m in the Jan window regardless.

Hold on and dont make Liverpool look like cunts worldwide.

There is no way we would do any sort of deal with Newcastle now, they have gobbed off and took the piss one time too often. The clue is in Rogers tone

TOON legend Malcolm Macdonald has a blunt message for Liverpool cast-off Andy Carroll: There’s no place for you back at St James’ Park.

Instead, Supermac reckons the England striker – seemingly surplus to requirements under Brendan Rodgers at Anfield – should head down the M1 for a fresh start at West Ham.

Macdonald argues that at Upton Park, Carroll would soon hit top form playing under a manager who knows him well from their time together on Tyneside, Sam Allardyce.

Kop boss Rodgers seems hell-bent on holding out for a decent fee for the lanky hitman, saying last week: “I would need to be a nutcase to let Carroll go out at this moment.”

And a return to the club which sold him to the Reds for £35million is a non-starter, according to the man who rifled 95 Magpies goals in 187 games in the 70s.

Macdonald told the Daily Star Sunday: “No. Never. It just doesn’t work going back a second time. Once you have divorced your missus you don’t go back and marry her.”

Supermac points to the superb strike partnership between Demba Ba and fellow Senegal international Papiss Cisse.

He said: “I can think of only one exception to the rule that it never works the second time around and that’s with Peter Beardsley going back to Newcastle.

“It has never worked for anyone else – and it certainly won’t in Andy’s case.

“Sure, I feel sorry for the lad. But what he needs to do is find his own way – and that shouldn’t lead him back to Tyneside. Andy has got too many bad habits back in Newcastle. It would be too easy to fall back into the traps we all know about.

“Don’t go back in time, Andy. It doesn’t happen. It doesn’t work. Your time at Newcastle has gone.”

Macdonald added: “West Ham is the place for him. Big Sam knows the lad and he’ll welcome him at a different club. It can work when you meet up again with an old manager.

“Look at Brian Clough. He selected certain players who had been with him at Derby and took them to Nottingham Forest. Same boss, new club.”

Supermac can sympathise with Carroll’s out-in-the-cold position at Liverpool but knows from past experience that he cannot linger where he is obviously not wanted.

He said: “There comes a time when it has all gone sour and both club and player have to cut their losses.

“Liverpool, and in particular Rodgers, don’t want Andy moping around the place.

“But Newcastle won’t give him that fresh challenge. That’s the last place for him to go and, quite frankly, they don’t need him anyway.”

According to the Sunday Times he's told Rodgers that he doesnt want a move anywhere else than Newcastle.

We'll get fucked for 15 mill this week. Guaranteed.

Llambias has already said Carroll's worth 'fuck all' so I don't see why the barcodes are trying to get him back or why we're even trying to get them to pay much. I wouldn't deal with them at all, and if Carroll's sensible he shouldn't entertain the idea of going back to those creeps.

I agree 100% with Macca, if they offered us our fucking money back I would tell them to fuck off. Fucking hell we are up on a charge for our manager saying Dempsey is a man we would like to sign, those inbred bastards have waged a Goebels type psychological war trying to steal him back and fuck all has been said.
Fuck Newcastle, and they won't be anywhere near the top six this year, Andy or not.

Rock and a hard place though isn't it? Rodgers seems to want rid, Carroll seemingly only wants a return to Newcastle. Much as I hate Ashley and especially Llambias and wouldn't sell him to those pricks one side will need to give in

Well if we don't get another striker then carroll will have to stay as we'd only have 2 strikers. I think he'll stay this season if its only newcastle he's willing to go to.

I think it's more a case of we wont get another striker unless he goes

I think we will tough it out, call their bluff, bring a striker in anyway, and if we still want shut do it in January, which is when the Arican cup of nations is isn't it, whe Ba and Cisse will both be missing.

Yep, he's on huge wages. That will dictate him leaving.

Putting aside any fee for a moment, his wages will pay for two, perhaps three players.

I wouldn't be so concerned if I was confident that will be the case, but I see no evidence that we're offering lower wages than before, so aren't we just changing the personnel whilst keeping the wage structure? To lure players into a team outside of the CL, etc etc, we're being drawn into luring them with inflated wages. So who we currently over-pay seems less important than the fact we're over-paying as a matter of course.

The figures bandied about for Allen were 45k a week, assaidi 30k a week. Now they are significantly lower than most.

We clearly made a statement paying 70% of sahin salary but I doubt that would apply to dempsey for instance.
