Well worth watching now, with Jack W in as well we must have a great chance.

Good for him I say, he will start next season flying

This is really naive, he could be playing in the Euro next year but he'll probably be fucking knackered after playing this Summer for the U21's and a full season for Liverpool.

Capello needs to sort himself out because he's typical of most of the managers we've had of late, ie THICK.

or get injured

pessimist

He needs some games as he's only been doing cameos for 4 months. He's a young lad too a few run outs won't hurt him.

normally yes and this may be the case for Jack W, but Andy missed months of footy. The tournament is only about 7/8 games if we get to final

He then ends up playing catch up with the Liverpool squad, because they get a longer break and usually come back into pre-season only a couple of weeks prior to kick off. We've seen it with Torres over the last two big tournaments.

I don't mind admitting it, but - I love Jack Wilshere. I love watching him play, watching him pass, watching him run with the ball, and watching him take the piss out of International midfielders who've played in the premier league for years.

He's only 19 and he's already brilliant.

He had a month off football in December/January .... he'll be fine.

LIVERPOOL want Andy Carroll to use his England Under-21 call-up to sort out his fitness.

The £35million striker has struggled to get in match shape since his January move to Anfield.

And while there are some concerns about the wisdom of the decision to take him to the European Championship in June, there is also a strong feeling within the club that it could benefit Liverpool.

Carroll's training stats have been below par in the four months since his big-money move from Newcastle.

That is partly because he arrived injured, and now club doctors do not believe six weeks of rest and holidays will be a good preparation for next season.

There is a worry the end of the campaign would come at a bad time for Carroll if he stopped training every day.

He has played just 30 games this term and even if he did not travel to Denmark, there would be an expectation for the 21-year-old to put in some extra hours training over the summer break.

A month of international duty will enable Carroll to return to Melwood in better condition in pre-season.

Although manager Kenny Dalglish was less than enthusiastic about Carroll's inclusion and sounded a cautionary note, no objections have been raised with Under-21 boss Stuart Pearce.

Re: Big Andy in Euro's U21 Squad *EDIT* (Now Jay as well)

Jay Spearing has been drafted into the U21 squad for the Euro Championships.

Hope he makes the cut, Wilshere and Jay in the middle could give England a great partnership

Really pleased for him, it will be very interesting to see how many games he gets for us next season

Congrats Jay

Andy playing in Euros gives him less time to drink and party while getting into fighting fit shape for next season.

Huh?

Wenger was just on the radio saying Wilshere is defo in the new squad but some rags are saying Andy C is complaining he is not fit enough to go now.

I bet he is in the shortened squad though. I still think it will do him good

Spain are fielding the likes of Javi Martinez, Busquets, Jeffren, Bojan, Thiago, Capel, De Gea and rumoured Liverpool-target Juan Mata.

The England - Spain game is apparently almost sold out (12,000 cap.) so there'll be decent atmosphere I reckon.

With the likes of Christian Eriksen and Simon Kjær beeing brought in to Denmarks team (Bendtner has ruled himself out) there should be some good games to look forward too although there's a few 'strange' teams qualified. Belarus and Iceland (wtf) in particular.

Haha you could say that yeah.

HE'LL BE BACK, though.

Gylfi Sigurdsson, anyone remember that name? Former Reading Youngster and now with Hoffenheim. He's apparently one of the most talented set-piece takers in Europe at this day and age. Will be interesting to see him in action.

But still, where's Germany, France, Holland and Italy, to name a few?

Having the likes of Carroll and Wilshere in the squad will make the competition more interesting but I don't see how they'll benefit from playing during the summer.

Carroll hasn't played consistently for half a season.

If he plays during the summer, I guess the hope is that he'll be quite sharp when the new season starts.
