Best weekend in a very long time

When was the last time we had such a superb weekend for Liverpool results wise?

First Spurs look completely toothless away to a side you would expect them to beat comfortably to blow their chance to go top and put pressure on us

Then Arsenal drops points at home when we all expected them to put in a cricket score against a shite Boro side

At the same time Everton dominate a game only to somehow lose it at the death to keep them at arms length

Then we play amazing football to go joint top

Roll over to Sunday and City get held in a game you'd expect them to stroll a few weeks ago

Finally Utd get absolutely torn apart by Chelsea completely deflating their manager, squad and fans while cranking up the pressure for the next few games

I'm actually glad we didn't go out and win 5/6-0 as all the talk would be about us and if we can end the 26 year wait. As it is we are 3rd and all the talk is about Utd faltering and Chelsea. I'd much prefer us to fly under the radar for as long as possible before 'BOOM' as Klopp would say and we suddenly out in front.

When was the last Utd, Everton, Spurs, City and Arsenal all failed to win while we did?

I dunno last week? You know when we failed to beat Man U

I remember going nuts when Sunderland beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Easter weekend...was a Sat evening game. Then we beat Norwich 3-2 Easter Sunday and it was a dead early kick off. I was certain it was ours then.

*wipes away tears*

i was worried when City rescued that late point against Sunderland. Mamonne the uselsss fuck.

Yeah, I said it in the match thread. Can't recall a better set of results.

Of course, you could be greedy, or wonder just why Smalling, Blind and De Gea managed to play so well at Anfield, and then perform like that just six days later - so infuriating.

But overall, it was pretty great.

I wonder if was it linked to the fact that it was their third game in six days?
A pity we didn't play them yesterday instead if that was the case

Almost certainly had an effect, but can't excuse just how phenomenally shit Smalling was. Even Anfield MOTM Herrera looked useless.

Irritating.

We used to regularly get draws from winnable games when we'd played in Europe. No doubt Leicester wouldn't have won the league if they'd have been in Europe last year, it's why I've had us and Chelsea in the top 4 from day one, and it's defo why all the competition looked shit this weekend.

Yeah, but there was also the delicious Everton bonus

And Dundalk win the title as well.

If Chelsea played them Monday and we played them Sunday I think we'd have thumped them.

Although I guess every Chelsea player had a point to prove to Mourinho.

Did you see how strongly Hazard celebrated for instance, it looked personal.
