Tenuous link.

Would you? Him an Suarez might actually be good together. High wages, but little cost upfront. Him and Hoilett, while eating in to the wages budget (balanced by removing Cole, Acqua & Kuyt) could leave a large sum left to pay a top dollar transfer fee for someone else?

Of course ginsoak would probably find sone way of stopping him signing with us.

I'd be tempted.

Nope. I want someone quick, hungry, creative and who will fight for the shirt and give the opposition a hard time.

So would I.

Maybe a two year deal. He scores goals, he doesn't seem to cause a fuss when he doesn't play regularly. Fuck ask to lose once we limit the years on the deal

I don't think Berbatov fits the template of the Liverpool striker. Liverpool strikers are expected to work hard for 90 minutes, tackle back etc. etc.

You could argue that this is a mistake and that a languid lounge lizard who pops up to score a goal in every match is worth having. It's a question of culture.

With Dirk and Maxi more than likely going and our need to add at least 30-40 goals to our squad we could do worse. We're 2 strikers short as things stand and won't have the money to bring in 2 £20m plus strikers again.

Why doesn't he play at Utd?

He's certainly talented enough and started scoring lots of goals after a fairly difficult first season.

Not mobile and versatile enough?

This, plus Welbeck will become a better player over time given games. Some of his link up with Rooney this season was top notch

I've been saying this for weeks, since his departure was first spoken of.
Him and Suarez could dovetail perfectly, all that buzz, and energy from Louis, Andy causing havoc and flick-ons and the languid Berbs popping up in the box to stroke them away. Say what you like but he is just what we want - a great finisher. Ginsoak would never allow it.

Always liked Berbatov. He is what we have lacked for ages, a real goalscorer. I can only assume he doesn't fit the system United play because he is technically superb, positionally astute and an excellent finisher. Him and a forward with real pace would do me fine for this Summer as far as strikers are concerned. Of course the Mancs would never sell to us anyway.

Is his contract finished, meaning he can leave on a free without Ginsoak having any say?

Mentioned in today's article in soccernet.com:

United's rivals Liverpool are reported to be interested in Berbatov, but Serie A outfit Lazio may be favourites to snare the Bulgarian after his agent stated his desire to leave England earlier this month.

Berbatov is too slow. I want a pacy forward in the Bellamy mould that breathes fire and shits goals

as a free, why not? He will improve the sqaud. But as our main striker signing, no way!!! we lack pace, he has none.

He was Utd's top scorer a season ago. He works well with a smaller, tricky player which was evident at Spurs and earned him his move to Utd. I'd have him every day of the week. A great option to have on the bench when Carroll cant be arsed.

Think we would be mad not be interested in a player like Berbatov. Can't see us signing him though.

There's no place for him in the starting line up and he wouldn't be happy playing second fiddle to Carroll or Suarez.
We should have bought him after we played Leverkusen in 2005.
