Not sure where to put this. It came after the penalty so it could go in one of those threads, but it's also the opinion of a halfwit so it could slot nicely into any thread.

He is great at being himself. Much better than trying to be a Steven Gerrard clone. You can't copy what SG had. Talent.

Does anyone think Henderson is in the same stratosphere as Gerrard? Don't think so.
 
I think it's harsh to accuse Henderson of trying to tailor his game to minic Gerrard. I don't think anyone views Henderson as a direct replacement for Gerrard either. We might never see another Gerrard again.

I see it as Henderson trying to assume more responsibility now that he wears the captains armband from time to time. He's sees himself as the 'man of the house'. (cf the Costa incident.)

It's Barton being a sourpuss because national coaches always ignored him (correctly so obviously). He has previous against Henderson:

“Everyone’s thinking it, I’ll say it. Liverpool have horrific season and have six players in our Euro squad. What chance do we have. Pick on form.

“How Holt, Richards, Carrick, Ferdinand, Osman, Sturridge etc never got involved is a travesty.

“I really hope England do well but I don’t think we will.”
 
Why compare him to Gerrard at all? There isn't any point. Barton is talking out of his arse, as usual.
Gerrard is a one of kind talent imho. Henderson isn't his replacement or his successor as Liverpools talisman.

Rodgers said this himself today. So Barton should pay attention..

Rodgers also played down the assumption that vice captain Henderson will naturally replace Gerrard when he leaves to move to LA Galaxy at the end of the season.
“People see him as the automatic next captain but that is not necessary the case,” said Rodgers.
“You have to go steady with him. People want to catapult him into the next Steven Gerrard, but he is not that.

Oh, and Barton is on course for breaking a record himself this weekend. First time any player has gotten 7 yellow cards in consecutive games. What a moment that will be and the highlight of his career.

Stevie was probably as inspirational captain as has ever been and there is no way that Jordon can hope to emulate him that way.
However there were also qualities associated with good captaincy that Stevie seemed to be lacking in that I would hope Hendo can excel in.
I think that foremost, a captain should command respect, and there are numerous ways of earning that.
 
Some brain dead idiot on my Facebook with next to no footballing talent is also having a rant about Jordan Henderson, maybe we should make a thread for him too?
 
Anyone who bothers to compare anyone to Gerrard is just wasting their time. Once in a lifetime kinda player for any club. If at all.
