We have a glut of options, but all seem to be shit/injured.

Ings, Origi, Solanke, Sturridge

Brewster could be added to the mix, but he's out of action till end of November. Unlikely that he makes a huge impact this year.

So who do we keep out of this miserable bunch?

Ings looks certain to leave.

Sturridge has looked certain to leave for about 18 months, but he's still hanging around. Klopp's recent comments were pretty confusing.

Origi is, well, Origi.

Solanke might go on loan to Rangers apparently. I don't have a lot of expectations from him in any case.

So what do we see happening? Is Origi our best (and fittest) option? I can't see us signing anyone if we get Alisson and Fekir.

None. They are all shit.
I assume Firmino, Salah and if signed Fekir will share the load up front.

The rest are about as threatening as a kitten. A dead kitten. With one leg. Thats imaginary.

We've needed a good new striker for ages, and it's stupid that we still haven't signed one.

Solanke, Ings and Origi are all fucking dogshit, and Sturridge doesn't appear able to run anymore

It seems both Ings and Origi can leave, and that Soton and Newcastle are interested.

That leaves Firmino, Sturridge, Brewster and hopefully Fekir. Seems like Sturridge will stay.

Fekir will play the false 9 and we have brewster will hopefully get more game time. Dom hopefully moves on with a loan / sell.

Brewster is probably a write off for the first half of the season and even then it's just about giving him some minutes.

The drop off in quality is pretty alarming as things stand.

Sturridge will be kept on just so that LFC TV can record another version of the carpool singalong.

What's gwaning with Woodburn?

I think Klopp is just slightly frustrated at his pace of progress. He's got obvious talent but he's not yet shown enough discipline in terms of fitting in to a fast and fluid attacking unit like ours. He's okay for bringing on for fifteen minutes to give one of the others a break but he hasn't suggested much more than that. You'll see this pre-season, if he doesn't go out on loan, that Klopp will be testing him to show he's maturing tactically. Already Klopp has played him as a DM, basically to see how he'd react, and I suspect he'll move him around the pitch to assess how he copes. He needs to find a role and really focus on it and show Klopp he's worthy of getting regular chances there.

Thanks for the insight as always!

Am I trying a bit too hard to see both sides here, or might part of the problem have been the fact that Woodburn's frequently been shuttled between positions? Maybe the club and Klopp himself also need to focus on finding *the* position for him. Not by any means disagreeing with you, just a thought.
