Played very well when he was on the pitch I felt.. Good tackling, passing, crossing and vision.. Especially within this system he can cover Johnson perfectly when he marauds forward.

Ming Aurelio

Kuyt Gerrard Suarez

Carroll

Not the first time we've seen him play in midfield successfully.
He did OK today. But we really need a new DM.

I think Lucas is showing some superb tackling, some real bruisers

he is so much better than last season

Don't agree with the shape. Would call it 433, but I agree with dropping Lucas for Aurelio in the DM role

Aurelio had his first game in a while and was fairly decent.

Lucas has really improved both his tackling and passing. He was pinging the ball around with great confidence.

I thought aurelio was excellent tonight and like xabi sees passes early. obviously a good player hampered by injuries.

Lucas was better. I still think aurelio would be a great wing back

Depends on who we're playing. At home Lucas works when we've got more of the ball. Away from home maybe Aurelio is a better option as he offers more protection for the defence and is better at winning the ball back. I'd rather play him there against Chelsea than Lucas.

Lucas pinged it about with the best of them tonight. Played some delightful one-twos too

we were going to spend 8m on adam when I honestly think aurelio is just as capable with his range of passing.

I've always backed Aurelio. Just a shame about the injuries. He's a fine player.

It's risky because it means all the full-backs on our books (including the injury prone one) will be starting every game. One injury and we will be pretty much fucked.
