it's frustrating how crap we are in the final third , and it's not just our finishing , we're pretty clueless and regularly make the wrong decision when there .

and i gather that our midfield three of lucas , allen , gerrard is going to be first choice for some time but i'm not sure it's going to work , it just looks a little toothless at the moment .

oh and brendan must have been on the whacky this week if he thinks we have any chance of chasing down 2nd .
 
I'm sorry but i'm definitely blaming the manager for that fucking nonsense.... all the zip and verve in the world but not fucking balls at all..... no leadership and no fucking courage....sort it fucking out.

No Johnson was doing his job. He was marking his man.
If he left his man to mark the one who scored and the ball went to player he left you would have blamed him as well.

Who was he marking? He was stood marking no one when the ball went in. So shut the fuck up.
 
we take one step forward then two steps back that's our story for the last three seasons or so.
 
The movement around their penalty area is just nonexistent. Rogers needs to give them a right old bollocking and will someone just put their foot through the ball when shooting
 
Extremely unlucky to be 2 down but some of our players need wakening the fuck up. Allen a waste of space, Gerrard as consistently shite as he has been all season, giving the ball away and miscontrolling it every time...fucking useless.
Shelvey and Suarez need to sharpen up too.
 
Playing Allen and Lucas at home is pointless in these sort of games. They've done fuck all to protect the defense anyway and offer nothing going forward.

It's nothing to do with this talk of 4th place mate. We shouldn't be losing 2-0 to Villa at Anfield.

Of course he meant it - it was a great bit of skill and a fantastic goal and I dont know how it could have been prevented, but if it was for us at the other end you just know the ball wouldnt have fallen so perfectly for the shot

Have to agree. Thought Allen was this great worker in midfield, protecting the defence and offering stability and calmness to the midfield?

His form has taken an alarming dip.

To be honest I don't think it is. We have been wastefulness exemplified whilst Villa have shown how to take their chances when given them (and I do mean given - as in given a free reign from horrendous marking).

60% possession and 45% of the game being played in the Villa third - yet we are seemingly intent on inventing as many ways as possible to fuck it up.
 
He's the nearest defender to the play there Modo, so he doesn't do his job, or rather doesn't recognise the danger when Skrtel has to come across. He should make the diagonal run to cut in and plug the gap, he doesn't. If he's marking that player who's also in range of the midfielder, he's just blocking off the lesser danger. He should tuck in straight away and cover the space vacated by Skrtel. It doesn't help that Agger is well ahead of the play either.

Particularly for that second goal where I'd split the marking blame 60 (Allen) 40 (Lucas) for giving Weimann a free shot at goal.
