Forced a save with enough power for there to at least be a chance of it coming back of the goaly..... compared to every other shot weve mustered today it was a step up.
The saddest thing to see as a Liverpool fan these days is the complete lack of an identifiable backbone. The likes of Hyypia, Hamann, Carra, Alonso, Mascherano in the centre of the pitch who'd make sure we wouldn't fall like a pack of cards if things weren't going our way. The current crop, and that includes Agger, Skrtel and Lucas, just don't have that presence and quality.
Add that to a thin as fuck squad, a woeful lack of attacking options, and players regularly being played out of position - and this is what you get. Finishing 6th this year would be a massive achievement. Anything more is a fucking pipe dream.
