I don't know if that's how you spell his name, but then I don't really know anything about this guy because we never see him.

He had a couple of games where he looked really good in Europe and I think we were all thinking we'd be seeing a lot more of him, but it's been the exact opposite. Unless he's been carrying a knock or there is some other issue... you have to ask what he's done wrong.

I agree, fitness was touted at the beginning of the season, but that can't still be the case? In our next game i'd love to see this

-Assaidi----Suarez----Sterling-
----------------Suso---------------
-------Gerrard------Allen-------
Enrique-Agger-Skrtel-Johnson

Sahin has been below par and deserves a rest, and I thought Suso looked good in that attacking role yesterday, he seemed more inclined to attack and create something than Sahin did.

I thought his international manager praised his work rate and told Taarabt to 'watch him and figure out why you're not in the team'.

He did indeed, and Assaidi has got through plenty of covering work in those European games for us as well as going forward.

I hope this is more coincidence than anything, a case of Rodgers looking at the specific teams we've been up against and deciding that Assaidi's not what we need in those particular games. We may or may not agree with him, but hopefully it's no more than that.

From the very small amount we've seen of him, I'd rather him in the team than Suso or Sterling at the moment, he's looked very likely to score or put in that good final ball. The boss is obviously seeing something day in day out that he doesn't like at the moment. As mentioned, maybe he's not one to help out and track back etc.

i thought Cole getting in ahead of him vs Anzhi was telling but then again, maybe we won't see Cole again after that.

from what I see he has this annoying habit of running into good positions and then checking all the time. either that is because he has no options or he is a bit mental.

I would like to see more of Assaidi. He does the things Downing ought to do but doesn't. He takes on defenders and gets crosses in.

Give him time, he won't be the first foreign player to be eased in, he's had problems with fitness early on (wasn't fasting an issue?) and then he's played a couple of good games, and then made one or two so so appearances where he's looked a bit out of it. Add that we're probably trying to compliment things a bit, maybe playing with three players like Assaidi, Sterling and Suarez might be a bit too much just yet.
