[article=http://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/arsenal-fan-homeless-after-betting-his-house-on-gunners-beating-manchester-united-8937139.html]After their storming start to the season, fans of Arsenal could be forgiven for vowing to 'bet their house' on the Gunners beating Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday.

But one unlucky supporter actually did - and is now searching for a new home.

Henry Dhabasani, a Gunners fan from Uganda, opted to risk losing his two-bedroom house in a wager with Rashid Yiga, hoping that his beloved club would win.

Honouring his side of the bet, Yiga threw in his new Toyota and, rather more bizarrely, his wife, stating that Manchester United would emerge victorious from the crunch clash, according to the Ugandan Observer.

The pair even got several residents and local leaders from their town to witness the bet, as well as entering the bet into writing.

Dhabasani, who has five children and three wives, lost the bet when Robin van Persie scored the only goal of the game to give David Moyes’ side a 1-0 victory.

The newspaper reported that he fainted when he saw the result, supposedly in shock that he had actually lost his house.

The supporter, along with his family, was reportedly thrown out of his house by a group of Manchester United supporters.[/article]

We should do this as some fantasy betting league and see who ends up owning what of other SCM's possessions.

How does he do it? I can't even cope with 1 wife and 3 bedrooms.

When I lived in Nigeria the 'Chief' who was a partner in the company, had 4 wives and ca. 60 girlfriends (all of whom he paid a little allowance to each month) !!

It's another world.

I remember watching a documentary about large families. There was one man (I think it was an Arabic country though, not in Africa) and he had something like 80 kids with about 35 different women. He pissed himself laughing at the English documentary maker when he said he only had one wife.

I think you guys read it wrongly.

It says the Manc supporter (who later won the bet) bet his wife and his Toyota. NOT the Arse supporter's wife.

If the Arse fan won, he would have an additional wife (making it a total of 4 wives) plus 5 children. All sharing a 2-bedroom house.

Now assuming all 5 children will share one room. That would mean 4 wives in the other.

He probably was getting a bit bored with his life and needed to spice it up in the bedroom dept.

Or he simply just needed a car for his large family and its growing demands.

Either way you look at it, it seemed a calculated risk worth taking, at least for him. Plus Arse was on a roll.

I read it that he lost the bet so he had to give the manc his house and take his wife off his hands.
