Ruled out for Benfica & game at the weekend due to picking up ankle injury in training..

Great Buy Rafa..

Unbelievable!!

"He had a problem with his ankle this morning and we have to fix it.

"It doesn't seem too serious but it's the same ankle as before and so we'll have to analyse the situation carefully."

Rafa.. he had this 'problem with the ankle' when we bought him. You bought a crock m8.... Cmon admit it...

Well, on the plus side at least he wont be missed on the pitch
True we can just play the Mighty Lucas instead.. Class Player... :'(

He will undoubtedly take advantage of his forced time on the sidelines for improving his English...

BTW - I just got back from Rome and the Roma fans I spoke to admire him and miss him. They also seem to be happy with Riise.

Maybe a little convenient again? Its not like he would start on Thursday or away against Brum either.

exactly, he wasn't going to play anyway

Oh no! He'll miss a game and a couple of days of training, what are we going to do??!!!

The Aussie will sort him out.

He's my next person I've put my complete and utter blind faith in.

I'd already forgotten about him. Okay, I'm back on board the hope train!

Edit: Although even HE will probably blow a knee or something.

Yup.

Poor old Alberto. This is the way its always going to be for him, isn't it? You just know it.

Sold to Parma or someone for 3mil in about 2 years with 12 games under his belt and a worse money to game ratio than Tomas Brolin.

Not sure if this has been stated before, but I have a colleague based in Roma - and she is a massive AS Roma fan.
When she realized that I was Liverpool through and through, she laughed at me and said, "You guys bought "Swarovski" off us! Thanks!."
If you don't know, Swarovski is the the glass/crystal company you find in airports selling brittle shite that breaks in your suitcase.

But they make such pretty stuff!

*looks at box of stuff purchased for girlfriends and shattered before there was a chance to play more than a few games, er, be given as presents*

He's our Humpty Dumpty.

Aquilani has played the same amount of games for us so far this season, that Owen Hargreaves used 2,5 years on for Utd.

Funny, but still doesn't take away the fact that it's a horrendous comparison.
I saw it as a prediction more than a comparison. Based on his brief time here and his horrific injury record in Italy, I don't think it's particularly far-fetched to suggest that his signing could be comparable with Hargreaves. They both cost similar sums of money and, if Aquilani continues in the same vein, could both prove to be massive failures. The only difference being that Hargreaves was a luxury buy for Utd, while Aquilani replaced one of our best players.

Its crazy to compare at this stage. Aqua has a minor injury, and by all accounts we have a handle on what was previously wrong with him. 2 years down the line we can compare with Hargreaves, but right now it reads like ridiculous DB doom-mongering.

Correct. He's been a fucking disaster. But will hopefully be Benitez's last.
