Stephen that is...

"I don't give a damn for Ireland. Live in Cork? I'd rather shoot myself. I prefer Los Angeles,"

"For a start, Birmingham is a c**p city and I wasn't going to make the effort, especially as I wasn't playing. Might as well be in Manchester if I had to stay home on match days."

"I was the best player in training. It was my team that won in every session."

Los Angeles eh? City of angels. I reckon he'd like to live there so he can show off his angel wings tattoo on his back. He's that deluded he probably thinks he can fly.

Daft cunt.

Hopefully he goes there soon and tries to fly off a large building.

"I'm upset with what has been printed this morning because I feel like I've been portrayed in the wrong way," Ireland told skysports.com in a statement issued by his agent. "I was misquoted and things have been blown way out of proportion. That is the reason why I feel like I needed to say something because the quotes are very unfair.

"What I said during the interview has been twisted to sound particularly blunt and a lot of what was written about my hometown of Cork - which me and my family visit regularly - was just plain ridiculous.

"The comments regarding Birmingham were also taken way out of context as I had only been at Villa a few months and didn't even live there so I have no idea what Birmingham is like to live in and everyone I have met from Birmingham has been nice, my girlfriend's father is from Birmingham so why would I say that, it's just crazy.

"I can only apologise if anyone was offended, but the way the interview was written made me sound very harsh, and I am not that kind of person."

Hmmmm, just out of interest, when a journalist directly quotes you as saying "Live in Cork? I'd rather shoot myself" is there any way you can make that "twisted to sound particularly blunt"?

Thought not.

He loves interviews doesnt he?

Manchester City blocked Stephen Ireland from a big club move, he claims.

Newcastle United's on-loan Aston Villa midfielder revealed he had interest from Manchester United and Liverpool before leaving City.

He told So Foot: "I saw Shay Given the other day, Arsenal want him but he can't go as City don't want to strengthen a rival.

"It was the same with me, I had contacts with Manchester United and Liverpool but City vetoed it."

Ok, I only found out about two months ago, but believe it or not, I know someone very well, who sees him on a regular basis at his family functions. They don't know him well but he's more normal in person than his escapades would suggest.

We all know the press misreports things. I'd tend to believe Ireland may have said some funny things off the record, in a sarcastic way, not realizing they'd be quoted in such a blunt fashion.

Avvy, did you see his Range Rover with the pink wheels that someone posted a few years ago?

Course I did, Roland..

Just curious how he keeps doing it.

He keeps reminding me of that 'dickheads' video.

I spent Wednesday and Thursday in LA. Birmingham must be some shithole, if this mentaller prefers LA over it.
