After the MOTD thing last night where Lineker had a bit of a pop at Wrights 'Messi' comparison with Salah - He can be forgiven to some degree because obviously he's an ex bluenose. Weirdly though I've come across some ex pro's through interviews they've given etc that have been constantly negative about all things LFC! Like they really hate us. Matt Le Tissier leaps to mind - For whatever reason he's always slagging LFC off. There are more of course - Anyone else? I don't really give a fuck but I was curious.

Jason Cundy.

Joey Barton.

Roy Keane.

Matthew Le Tissier.
Barton? Really?! Huh - He's a fucking massive tit anyway so no bother. Oh I forgot about Roy Keane. But admittedly he's a scummer and Joey was a bluenose. It's just weird that Matt Le Tissier seems to have a beef. What the fuck have we done to him?

Na I don't think so.
I think linekars wasnt a pop it was a bit of a giggle.

Le tiss cos we keep buying soton players and then we kicked up a stink re barca and coutinho. He was kinda saying its a similar situation re vvd.

Most of em probably hated lfc during their playing career Keane, Cundy et al and internalised the hatred so it just comes out.

No probs with the lineker scepsism yesterday. But the MOTD and other reactions after the derby was just ridicoulous.... incl Spud who seemed to spit out his disgust for Klopp while going on about how fine managers Houllier and Hodgson were .

Every club thinks the world hates them. We get a fairly balanced view. I love how everyone in the world knows Maureen is a cunt these days though. I got flawless iptv so on lazy days like today I flick round all the highlights progs from around the planet and everyone everywhere thinks he's a rimjob and just laughs at him.

I guess I'm more a bit baffled. I mean yeah Barton and Keane having a pop.... I get that. It seems strange that there is some kind of vitriol that seeps out through social media. It's pretty pathetic and fucking obvious, dull and bemusing. On the flip side - I kind of like Beckham. He was a scummer but I think he's pretty ok (I'm going to get pounced on for that) - What I mean is that when ex players pipe up (who have no real fan or club affinity - I'm utterly bemused) Ahhh - It's just weird. 😕

Haha - Yeah I'm not arsed at all. They can think what they fucking like. I was just curious. Funny about Maureen though - Fuck me that guy is a whopper!

No, he's always been very anti-LFC. The recent transfers merely allowed him to crank it up a bit.

He was sort of Anti Scum as well (I think he told bacon face to fuck off a few times when he came knocking) . Maybe he's just a bitter bellend that liked to not win trophies?

I remember speaking to an arsenal fan years back who moaned all the time about how the media were against arsenal
I was under the impression media loved arsene

Yeah Le Tiss always anti Liverpool. Doesn't it have something to do with the fact that we were supposedly in for him and it didn't happen (maybe he turned us down, or we didn't offer him enough or for some other reason it just went badly) ? Can't remember or maybe it wasn't public knowledge ?

Couldn't agree more; nearly every City or United fan I meet thinks the media hates their respective clubs. Football fans are paranoid.

He now works really hard at seeming the uber-fan, because he bolloxed up various business investments, lost more media and commercial sector gigs because lots of women involved were thoroughly pissed off at how he treated Emily Symons, and he's had an expensive divorce, so aside from Sky, who don't actually pay him that much, he's heavily reliant on Southampton for work, so that combines with his antipathy towards LFC to get some easy kudos for complaining so much about the transfers (which is actually the height of hypocrisy because he's now co-owner of a football agency, mainly funded by his much wealthier partner, and is actively looking to broker just the kind of deals that he pretends to find so scandalous).

He was a fucking moron who didn't sign for Manure when they were winning everything because he'd bought a load of nightclubs in Jersey and Southampton and wouldn't trust anyone to look after them if he had to move to Manchester. Obviously, nightclubs are fleeting so as Macca says I doubt they've been worth shit for a long time now. He just liked being a big fish in a small pond and he's probs quite bitter at the decisions he made.

But whatever, fuck him.

Haha! That's an eye opener. Cheers lads. I knew there was something up with that twat. What a sad fucking tit he is. Huh! Oh well. I look forward to the next LFC dig he dishes out - It's kind of fun to laugh at the bitter weird bellend.

His brother is as thick as two short planks, too. Do you remember when Hoddle became England manager and Le Tissier finally had a chance to establish himself in the national side, only for his idiot bruv to race excitedly to 5Live to breathlessly reveal all of Hoddle's tactical plans for a crucial World Cup qualifier. As a consequence, even Hoddle, the only really influential fan Le Tissier had, completely washed his hands with him.

Nah every teams fans think they is a bias against them.

To be fair though, I know he runs with the ball tight at his feet but Messi he ain’t. Good half a season though, nearly as good as Marco Negri.

Not this nonsense again. We do pretty well compared to most other clubs, as a lot of ex reds are now pundits.

You're way, way, out of date. The cachet that came with being an ex-red has long faded. Hansen's gone, Lawrenson's been limited to LFCTV, and aside from the veteran Graeme 'I'm a Bournmouth season ticket holder and Spurs fan' Souness, the media has long moved on.

As for bias, it doesn't bother me except on a few occasions, but the laziest and least empirically compelling argument is to claim 'it's about the same for all clubs'.

In general I'd say, at this moment, Gooners, much as I hate them, probably have the greatest claim to feel there's a bias against them. Aside from that loon Adrian Durham on TalkSport, who attacks them for fun on a minute-by-minute basis, there's a fairly constant flow of gratuitous and mischievous media criticism of them, and the fact that the London hacks (in terms of disposition) are more inclined towards Chelski, West Ham or Spurs only adds to their perception of bias.

As for the rest, yes, there's obvious bias against LFC, and the mancs, not because of some David Icke-like conspiracy but simply because these are two illustrious clubs and it's the line of least resistance to exaggerate every setback and under-value every success. It sells papers, it sparks phone-ins, it keeps Jim White shouting for hours on Sky Sports News. Do you think some cup game featuring us or the mancs against some minnow side is televised because we're respected? They're televised because it would please loads if we got embarrassed. It goes with the territory. And so does the bias. It's not something to get wound up about, but neither is it something to pretend isn't there in an effort to seem fair-minded and grown-up. That's just cynical or naive.

It's because we'e a well followed club and it's good for TV ratings. The spectre of an upset is merely an added bonus.

I agree with the general gist of what you say, but it's hardly an objective view. And whether you think it's empirical compelling or not, the fact that most football fans feel there is a media agenda against them does actually stand for something. Probably the fact they rarely bother to take much notice of what is said about other clubs and, as such, don't hear the criticism.
