Xabi's missus must have been giving birth again.
Ha. It was all clearly Pellegrini's fault.

No idea what you're talking about Khl 😉

Yes you do....

*this is getting confusing*

Seriously shite defending - headless chickens would have been better and Jerzey really is pumbing the depths now.

Whoever was playing left back would benefit from lessons from Dossena he was so crap

Real is missing Ronaldo badly. Bar a few games, Xabi has been anonymous. This weekend against Sporting Gijon, he was replaced with Van DerVaart who was far more threatening. Problem with Real is that they really dont need Xabi with their defenders- Pepe, Ramos, Marcelo and Garay bombing forward at every available opportunity.

Correction: Bar a few moments in a few games, he's been extremely average (and that's pushing it). My mate in Spain, although he's an Atleti fan, says Xabi just doesn't fit into Madrid's system and that he's struggled to impose himself on any games - which is what I've felt when I've seen him.

I think Xabi made a mistake by leaving us and I will not be surprised to see him a) left off the World Cup squad and b) sold next summer ...

Do you think he may come back? There's a lady who's gonna like the idea...

We should offer them a cheeky £20m in the Jan window
How about trying Lucas + £8m for Xabi?

I doubt he'll ever go to a Rafa managed team. Unless the 'reason' for leaving us was not really motivated by the 'bust up'

I did not want to be too harsh on him LTW 🙂) but you are correct. For example I started watching this weekends game from 10 minutes onwards. I did not even realize that Xabi was playing for a long time. Quite unlike Liverpool where everything used to run through him. However, his reputation will ensure that he will be selected for the World Cup squad. I would wait a couple of months before writing off his Madrid career.

Xabi is a tactical managers dream. However, Pellegrini is struggling to impose his methods on Madrid. Benzema has reportedly come out and criticized that he cannot play with Raul.
Ronaldo's goals have been hiding the deficiencies of the squad. When he is injured the entire team's frailties are exposed. If Madrid continue playing like this, then I think Xabi will rue his move. I really would not be surprised if we can get a bidding war started between Madrid and Barcelona for Mascherano, next summer. Coz looks like they need him more than Xabi.

Don't toy with me guys. Rafa would never have him back anyway, and I don't think Alonso would go 'backwards'; as in somewhere he's already been as opposed to a backward step in terms of progression.

I think you guys are being overly harsh on Alonso, Pellegrini has failed to achieve a balance in the team, but everyone's suffering, no just Xabi, we've seen nowhere near the bets in Ronaldo (despite his goals) Kaka or Benzema either. We all know what Alonso is, that steady eddy in CM, he's not a headline grabber hence why most people won't see him as outstanding in a game.

You probably didn't realise he was playing because he's half the size of the Alonso we knew.

Has he shrunk?

Is he developing the required physique for the holding role?
