In an interview printed in a Danish newspaper Agger stated that he doesn't believe any of Gerrard or Torres will abandon ship this Summer.

- I don't think they'll leave, Agger said when beeing asked.

Why not?

- I just don't think so.

Have you talked to them about it?

- No, but I've got a feeling that everyone at the club is dedicated and determined to make amends because of the mess we made last Season.

It doesn't reveal much apart from the fact that it seems our players are determined to make things right.

So he hasn't spoken to either or them?

Yeah, that's that nailed on then.

For what it's worth, I don't think either will leave either.

Benitez: Torres going nowhere

Fernando Torres has no desire to quit Liverpool this summer according to manager Rafael Benitez.

The Reds striker has been linked with a summer move to Premier League champions Chelsea or mega-rich Manchester City after a torrid campaign which saw the Merseysiders finish seventh.

The lack of UEFA Champions League football for next term has led some to claim the Spanish international, who is currently racing against the clock to be fit for the World Cup following a knee operation, would opt to leave Anfield.

But Benitez sides on the contrary, insisting the former Atletico Madrid marksman will stay at Liverpool beyond the South Africa finals.

"I am not aware that Torres wants to leave," said the Spaniard, who revealed on Wednesday he would like to manage his national team in the future.

"Now he is only focusing on recovering and going to the World Cup, only then will he think about his future."

Benitez added that Torres' importance to Liverpool goes far beyond his actions on the pitch, saying: "Torres has multiplied the Liverpool image in Asia because all the women there are crazy about him.

I guess all that tells us is he wont be going anywhere till after the world cup.

Rafa:

"We wont be selling Torres as he sells tons of shirts in Asia where the girls love him long time".

Any football reasons Rafa?

Yeah, that's fucking marvellous news

If he does go, at least his transfer fee might inflate further if he bangs in a few goals at the world cup.

*clutches at straws for any type of positive outcome*

Now KHL if you had heard Agger say that yourself at his wedding or something it would have carried alot more credibility

"Because he just knows" (sounds like a new punchline for an aftershave)

No it wouldn't.

Those words, said anywhere, at anytime, to anyone, carry about as much weight as Alex Higgins.
