About to sign for Cagliari today. All the best to him; never a world-beater, but did his job well and became a bit of a cult hero for a time. The "Klavan turn" will live on in memory as well as the stoppage-time winner against Burnley. Now we are entering a new phase with the likes of Gomez and Phillips deemed ready to show their worth.

Yep, all the best Ragnar. Was a decent enough option to have on the bench.
Good luck to him.

I really liked the guy. Had some unnecessary swag and did his job largely well when required (more than we probably thought it would be required)

This. Before van Dijk's signing there were some games in which Klavan looked like our best defender and, while that was partly a reflection of how poor our other options were at times in the centre of defence, the stick he sometimes took came across to me as more of a kneejerk assumption than an objective assessment of what he'd actually done out on the pitch. We need to push on now, but he did the stand-in job he was signed to do and he did it to a decent standard.

I like the guy. Good loyal defender who did his job when called by Klopp.
All the best in Italy!

Interesting Klopp mentioned in the presser today that Fabs could cover at CB. So that has definitely influenced his decision.

Wouldn't be the first Liverpool manager to take inspiration from 6CM. Like the time Rafa copied KHL's teamsheet, the same one Ryan had pilloried as representing a team that someone who knew absolutely nothing about footy would pick. Fun times.

Having Rafa's mindset would scare the shit out of me.

It's official:
Ragnar Klavan has completed a permanent transfer to Serie A side Cagliari.

The Estonia international leaves Liverpool after a two-year spell on Merseyside that included 53 appearances and two goals for the club.
Klavan joined the Reds from FC Augsburg in the summer of 2016 and played 25 times during his debut season, scoring once – in a League Cup tie at Derby County.
The centre-back featured in 28 games last term, including eight Champions League appearances as Liverpool reached the final, and claimed a memorable winning goal in stoppage-time against Burnley.
Klavan sealed the formalities of his switch to Cagliari on Friday ahead of their first game of the Serie A season, at Empoli on Sunday.
Everybody at LFC wishes Ragnar the best of luck for the future.

I hope we have a good future sell on clause. He's going to be amazing when he hits his prime.
