I am having a clear out in the house and came across an old VHS video "The John Barnes Story".

Wow what a video that was, amazing goals for us, England and Watford. Gutter I cannot find it on DVD anywhere as I do not have a video player anymore.

He will always be my favourite player and got far too much stick for his England performances when most were superb he just did not dribble around 10 players every time.

He gave us so many great moments, his passing was amazing hence his move to the middle in the later part of his career, he was a great crosser. He was amazing at free kicks and dribbled like Maradona, he was a world class finisher as well. If only he had looked after himself a bit better physically he could have avoided being so plagued with injuries.

Tell us about your fave Barnsey moments, England's best ever winger

He also shagged every bird in Liverpool. Me mates aunt being one of them. Every time i go the kazimier i swear i can still smell his bellend.

Barnes was/is boss.

I have that same vid Foxy. He wears the worst shellsuit I've evr seen during the whole thing.

Mad skillz though.

Amazed people still have video players!

One of my my favourite Barnes moments was him coming back from that really long injury think it was against Kennys Blackburn actually, in his 1st return to anfield...maybe 1992-93.

I was stood on the kop as a 12 year old and i remember how excited me and my bro was seeing him for the 1st time. Then he came on and hed got really fat!

Two moments of note, amongst many:

1) His (first ?) goal, against QPR. Strolled through the middle of the pitch as if the Londoners were cones in training.

2) That unbelievable cross to Aldo, amongst the Bluenose chants of "Everton are white".

Sublime talent.

Definitely my favourite ever Liverpool player and the best in my opinion. Apparently he's Stevie's too.

What's to say, he was amazing. One of the best players to grace English football, never mind Anfield.

Favorit Digger moment was back in 91 or 92 when i was in the elevator with digger, molby and mcmanaman. Macca was just a boy but they were all very honoured by this private moment. 8)
