A new CB?

I don't think a poll is necessary.
We all would feel more comfortable if we managed to sign a new CB in January, but who?

Do we get an experienced one, just as a short term solution?

Or do we find someone for the future?

Is Nallo god enough?

Stefan de Vrij's contract expires in the summer. Is he an option?
Dutch, would probably settle quite easily.

Fikayo Tomori, because he would cost €20m, has prem experience is HG

If we could get a decent long term prospect in, then great.

The likes of Hato could be good, but obviously difficult.

By all accounts Guehi wants to come to us above all. Providing he's happy to be 3rd choice and a reasonable fee, i have no qualms ; except the overt jesus stuff

Cunts always been one of The Expendables. LEts get the gang back together. Kabak, Williams and Phillips
You have to admit Natt with thay beard and all has that war soldier look about him..gets to every ball with his head and then there is the Cruyff turn against Zlatan... when you have a defensive issue and no one can help...call Natt and Co.

So am i the only one who dreads VVDS inevitable departure? Regardless of wether he wants to stay over or go. Our leader, our organisation, our match winner, will be gone.

Hopefully it’s something we don’t need to worry about until the 28/29 season or beyond.

Yeah, with Gomez injured we now start to look a bit light at CB, although I think this is where Wuansah steps in and plays himself back into the sort of form we saw last season.

If one of CB targets is available at a reasonable price, then absolutely pull the trigger.

I kind of like the idea of a loan.

Maybe play the Italians rather own game and keep Bluebell happy by offering to take Tomori on loan for the rest of the season with an option to buy (not a commitment).

Alternatively… what’s Ben Davies doing these days…

It was only a matter of time before we found ourselves in familiar territory. Gomez and Ibou both being injured for months was inevitable.

Didn't sign the CB we needed in the summer and now we could be left facing a heavy price. Heck we didn't sign a single fucker we needed.

Thanks Hughes, you massive cock sucking whore.

He’ll be here for 2/3 more seasons. Utd won their last title with Rio at 35.

Yes, he’d be a superb medium term target IMO.

We have an abundance of young talent who could make a step up in the time he’d be here.

Pinnington and Nallo seem closest, both possibly need a loan.

I’m expecting Quansah to play himself into form and luckily Konate will be back for Forest.

With two fit CBs how do you rotate now. We have been here before where we went from 1st to 9th, anyone remember, we eventually finished 3rd?
I know they think to themselves Konate is back in two weeks, we're okay, but VVD could get injured.

I think we’ve been very lucky that the Gomez & Ibu injuries overlap for possibly only 1 PL game.

knowing the Italians, they'll say Sale Only and jack up t he price to €40m.... If Tomori is available on loan, thats very good solution, I know he would jump at the chance to come back

Challenging on 4 fronts then 5 CBs is de riguer. We started the season one light but I've no issue with any of those we do have. I'd deffo like one more in January for when we start to have harder games every week as we go deeper into cup competitions.

I suspect we will use Endo at CB again with Gomez out. Maybe Quansah & Endo will play the FA Cup. Let's hope the Gomez twinge is a 2 week job and not a 2 month job, because he was very good, and I think we were going to start needing him at full back.

A signing like Hato would make a lot of sense now but I doubt those concerned have the appetite for that.

I feel these conversations need to follow a 'one in, one out' approach when it comes to the squad. With everyone fit, any new addition might struggle to even make the bench, which will be a key factor when considering bringing in another player and justifying the spend.

As it stands I think we're okay, but if Gomez wants out then I'd welcome replacing him with a similar, less injury prone defender, but we will struggle to find anyone to match his versatility and attitude.

I get the one in one out approach - but in theory Gomez could become the back up full back and a CB takes over 3rd or 4th choice there. Ultimately we are one light in that position, its up to Quansah to set his performance levels.

We can’t sign someone on the basis of “VVD could get injured”.

We sign someone because they’re good enough to play for Liverpool regardless of who’s injured.
