Manchester United midfielder Anderson has been pulled unconscious from the wreckage of a burning car moments before it exploded, according to reports.

Anderson is said to have spent several hours in hospital after the crash on a rural road in Braga, Portugal.
Witnesses said the Premier League star owed his life to being pulled "lifeless" from the vehicle shortly before it went up in flames.
The Guardian, quoting local reports, said the 22-year-old had spent the night at the Sardinha Biba nightclub before leaving in a £125,000 Audi R8.
The crash is believed to have happened at 7am when the car came off the road and hit the wall of a farm before flying into a field.
The car had just two seats but Anderson had two companions - a friend, named Victor, and a young Brazilian woman. It was unclear who was driving.
All three were treated for concussion, whiplash and shock and discharged later in the morning, reports said.
The incident is now the centre of a police investigation.

Thats the end of his Utd career then. Fergis will no doubt ship him out.

Doesn't matter. (Allegedly) He was out at 7 AM, after being at a nightclub, with 3 people in a two-seater car. Still stupid. On a Jermaine Pennant level of stupid.

And I'm the type to cut players a little slack for this sort of thing but when you're already being labelled a massive flop, maybe this isn't the sort of thing to put yourself into during pre-season. Back to Brazil, son.

Labelled a massive flop by who ? Redcafe certainly don't think so and that's a full cross-section of their fanbase.

Not aimed at DSE directly, but he is on holiday isn't he ? Do pro footballers now have curfews on their nights out while on vacation ? Even if he is still recuperating it doesn't mean he was dancing the night away, probably in a private box with a bevy of local talent. So fucking what ? The only real naughty in this is 3 in a 2 seater car - and we still don't know who was driving. Anyone knocking Anderson for a night out is spouting puritanical hypocritical bullshit because he is a Scum player and not based on the facts.

I don't frequent RedCafe so apologies if I'm mistaken about him being considered a flop. I think he's a talent but has yet to display 16 M (is that what he cost? can't recall) of talent in the Premiership yet from what I've seen. Time will tell.

And perhaps you're not familiar with me but I'm about the last person on here to be accused of puritanism. I would be even less happy with this constellation of events if it were one of our players. I acknowledged that we don't have all the facts yet (see the "Allegedly" in my post) but it doesn't look good. Season is coming up fast and I would expect players to be getting on with their preparations for it, except perhaps for players who were at the World Cup and are on rest leave.

I'm happy that it appears no one was seriously harmed by the incident.

Agree with the last part of Frogfish's post but I reckon he's been a flop so far - at least he's fallen far short of expectations.

DSE - please note I did say I wasn't have a pop at you ! Just the general consensus.

Gene - I'd love him in our midfield instead of Lucas !

That does not look like a car that went up in flames. It certainly doesn't look like a car that someone properly seated would nearly die in.

Almost every sane united dan I know thinks he's shit.

You cant know that many United fans called Dan. Esp' not living in Manchester. I'm surprised you know more than four Utd fans.

Wonder if he think t was lucky when he faces Alex Ferguson next time 😀

Why on earth isnt he with the club these days? DId he play in the world cup?

I didn't take it personally at all.

If it were one of our players out on the lash a few weeks ago I wouldn't have been upset. But if I found out this happened to Babel, for example, this close to the start of season I'd be pretty irked. Going drinking and a night out is nothing to worry about but to still be out at 7 AM (allegedly) and to either be behind the wheel of a vehicle (allegedly) or to be an illegally seated passenger in a vehicle where the driver likely had drank (leaping to conclusions) shows some serious lack of judgement. The fact that it's a single car accident suggests either alcohol or speed was a factor. I stopped making decisions like that once I graduated last year because I have a lucrative career that I don't want to jeopardize (and grew up enough not to put other people at risk either). I dare suggest he has more to lose than I do.
