This may bit mean much to most of you, but after 7 years and 8 months running The Imperial in Melbourne, I've finished up to move on to a new role with the group that owns it.
It's gone from an average little pub, to a Mecca for LFC fans in Melbourne - I don't think we've not been open for a live game that's been broadcast in 5 years regardless of what time of the night or morning it's been on - to multi-tiered behemoth of a venue.
It's turned me into a high-functioning alcoholic / beer snob / wine wanker, destroyed my sleep patterns, social life and at least one major relationship, but been an absolute blast along the way.
I got to sit down and have s few beers with Robbie Fowler & John Barnes in the pub. I've been graced with the presence of Ryan O'Hare on many an occasion. I've even had strange, random Irishmen come up to me and talk to me like they know me, but never introduce themselves to me and get all stalkerish.
I've met a few other lads from here - ComicalAli pops his head in every know and then, I introduced Vlad's son to our Parma and had a drink with Ropey after LFC were in town.
Sadly I missed The Count's last visit.
The week Liverpool visited Melbourne was mental - game day will always be one of my most favoured moments.
All these moments now lost.... like tears in the rain...
Ah well, onwards & upwards - I get to look forward to Mon-Fri / 9-5 fir the first time in 20 years... woo-hoo!!!
