After all the media frenzy, the ridiculous transfers and the incredible wage bill .... is this job done for this season?

I think that it just might be enough to get a B+ and another go for Mancini

I am not convinced that Mancini is the manager to take them further and if his continuing as manager results in a slowinf of their developement then I am all for it

He was supposedly tasked with getting into the Champions League. He has achieved that and more so it should be considered a job well done.

However, when a club has very rich owners like City or Chelsea that always makes me consider the manager's job as less secure. That might be unfair but its just the feeling I get.

For one, I get the impression they might be prone to interfering more than other owners. Secondly, buying your way into a CL place is one thing - especially when the other contenders suffer their own dips, as us and Spurs both have to a degree - but the requirement for next season might be a lot more ambitious, and that could be his undoing.

If City's owners want the league or CL next season, and they start deciding for themselves which players they might need for that then Mancini might not be there as long as it might seem now

Well I am convinced he isn't so yeah, hopefully they keep him

Although I may not be convinced Mancini is the man to take them to the holy land, he did deliver a significant trophy and a Champions League spot. They'd be right cunts to fire him. (Not to say it couldn't happen.)

I feel similarily about Ancelotti at Chelsea though I think anyone they hire to replace him is LESS likely to be successful, so here's hoping.

Someone might have said something similar about Ranieri at Chelsea. Look what happened then.

If, as seems likely given all the links and 'Arry's comment recently, Citeh spend another 100-200m this summer plus exorbitant wages, how on earth does it fit in with the new UEFA fair play rules coming in? It's not like they are going to recoup much on sales and will likely end up paying 80% of loan players wages too. Their commercial revenue is a pittance compared to other top teams.

As for Mancini, I'd be happy for him to continue. He reminds me of Rafa in his defensive-mindedness, meaning he's less likely to win the premiership with that mindset.

One article suggested that as long as a club appear to be making sincere efforts to reduce debts, they won't get penalized.

So I guess City will carry on spending heavily in the short-term and then just slowly reduce them whilst being massively over-extended.

Its job done for Citeh although I'm unconvinced by Mancini. Good for them.

Let's see if they get their hands on Ronaldo and or Mata to up the ante.

Next season should be pretty tough not to mention interesting.

[/quote]I think it was Ross that reported that a EUFA comittee were brought over as "guests" of the sheik to discuss the new fair play rules..

To be honest I think Mancini should get the boot. The only reason that they're as close as 9 points away is because the league winning tally will be the lowest for years. For all the money spent they should have at least been challenging for the league up until April. They have been absolutely piss poor at times this season.

Indeed. I think he should stay based on all that
