It's the time of year where I'll give you the much anticipated update of whom to look out for in the future.
We all know our scouts are up-to-date with the young starlets over here in Denmark (at least so it seems) but are you?
Kenneth Zohore
Became the second youngest player in the Champions League ever when subbed on against Barca for FC Copenhagen. Only just turned 17-years-old but are already build like and ox and is as strong as one as well. Has lost a bit of his puppy-fat over the past year and looks more and more like a potential top-class striker to me.
I've watched Lukaku play a few times and in comparison I don't think there's much between them to be honest. Both are quick, strong and good on the ball. Lukaku is of course ahead of Zohore at this point but also much more expensive.
Zohores fathers cousin is one Didier Drogba. They've even met once or twice. The last time around at Stamford Bridge. This is all pretty irrelevant stuff but now you know.
Lucas Andersen
I've only seen this lad myself in glimpses so far but he's getting sky high reviews. And this lad we certainly know very well already as he's been to Liverpool on trials twice in the past.
16-year-old attacking midfielder/winger with exceptional skills on the ball and great vision. According to Lynge Jacobsen - the owner of AaB - they've never seen such a young lad with such a range of skills as this Lucas. Greater in terms of talent than Jesper Grønkjær who came from the same academy. Not only does he look a bit like a Nordic version of Suso, his ways on the pitch does a bit too. Has already got his debut in the Superliga despite his tender age.
Viktor Fischer
Perhaps the pick of a very talented crop of Danish youngsters coming through the ranks.
Nurtured in the FC Midtjylland Academy (same as Simon Kjær) and a key-player in the Danish U17 team qualifying (alongside i.e. England) for the upcoming U17 EC in Serbia in May.
Another attacking midfielder with a great eye for goal as well. 17 goals in 22 games so far in the U17 national side tells it own story. Depsite him still not having enjoyed his debute in the Superliga, FCM has already turned down several bids. AC Milan and Ajax are both rumoured to have had bid in the region of £1M-£1.5M turned down already. Several other leading European clubs are said to be sniffing.
The fact he's born on the same date as me just undelines his potential. IMHO.
